Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Tool Room Manager role based in India at one of Harsha Engineers International Limited’s production facilities.

The Tool Room

Manager will oversee daily operations of the tool room, including planning, allocation, and supervision of tool manufacturing, maintenance, and repair activities.

Responsibilities include managing tool design and development schedules, ensuring optimal availability of tools and dies for production lines, and maintaining high precision and quality standards. The role involves coordinating with production, engineering, and quality teams to support new product development, reduce downtime, and implement continuous improvement in tooling processes.

Manager will also manage a team of technicians, maintain safety and 5S standards, control inventory of tooling components, and ensure adherence to company policies and timelines.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess robust technical skills in tool design, tool manufacturing, and tool maintenance, ideally with experience in precision tooling and dies for metal or polymer components.
- Candidates should possess hands-on skills with CNC machines, conventional machines (lathe, milling, grinding), and CAD/CAM software used for tool and die design.
- Candidates should possess skills in production planning, resource allocation, and workflow optimization within a tool room or machine shop environment.
- Candidates should possess abilities in quality control, measurement, and inspection of tools using gauges, micrometers, and other precision instruments, with an understanding of tolerances and standards.
- Candidates should possess people management and leadership skills, including team supervision, training, performance monitoring, and clear communication across departments.
- Candidates should possess problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose tooling issues, reduce machine downtime, and implement process improvements.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Tool Room Manager, Tool Room Supervisor, or similar role in a precision manufacturing or engineering company is highly beneficial.
