(JD)Position: Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) - Physics

Department-Academics

Reporting To-Head of Department (Science) / Academic Coordinator / Principal

Job Purpose The TGT Physics Teacher is responsible for delivering effective Physics education to middle and secondary school students, fostering scientific temperament, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and practical understanding of physical concepts. The teacher shall create an engaging learning environment aligned with the school's curriculum and academic standards.

Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Teaching & Learning

- Teach Physics to students of Classes VI to X as per the prescribed curriculum.
- Develop students' conceptual understanding through interactive and activity-based learning.
- Prepare and deliver lesson plans, assignments, practical demonstrations, and projects.
- Utilize contemporary teaching methodologies and educational technology to enhance learning outcomes.
- Ensure timely completion of the syllabus in accordance with the academic calendar.

1. Laboratory Management

- Conduct practical sessions, experiments, and demonstrations safely and effectively.
- Maintain Physics laboratory equipment and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols.
- Encourage students to participate in scientific investigations and experimental learning.

1. Assessment & Evaluation

- Design and conduct periodic tests, assignments, practical assessments, and examinations.
- Evaluate answer scripts and provide constructive feedback.
- Analyze student performance and implement remedial measures where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and academic progress.

1. Curriculum Planning

- Prepare yearly, monthly, and weekly academic plans.
- Develop teaching aids, worksheets,



question banks, and study materials.
- Participate in curriculum review and academic improvement initiatives.
- Integrate interdisciplinary and experiential learning approaches.

1. Student Development

- Foster scientific curiosity, innovation, and analytical thinking.
- Mentor students participating in Science Exhibitions, Olympiads, and competitions.
- Support students' academic, behavioral, and emotional development.
- Encourage research-based learning and project work.

1. Classroom Management

- Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment.
- Promote active student participation and collaborative learning.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during teaching and practical activities.

1. Parent & Stakeholder Engagement

- Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and academic discussions.
- Communicate student progress and improvement plans to parents.
- Work collaboratively with school leadership and colleagues to improve learning outcomes.

1. Co-curricular & Administrative Duties

- Participate in school assemblies, events, examinations, and committees.
- Organize science-related activities, clubs, workshops, and competitions.
- Support school functions and other duties assigned by the Principal.
- Attend professional development programs, workshops, and training sessions.

Educational QualificationEssential
- B.Sc. with Physics as a major subject from a recognized university.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a recognized institution.

Preferred
- CTET/TET qualified (where applicable).
- Knowledge of CBSE/State Board curriculum and NEP 2020 guidelines.
- Proficiency in educational technology and digital teaching tools.

ExperienceEssential
- Minimum 2-5 years of teaching experience in a recognized school.

Preferred
- Experience in teaching Physics at middle and secondary levels.
- Experience in conducting laboratory practicals and project-based learning.
