Preferably within the heavy manufacturing, power, process, or EPC industries.
Job Summary
The Senior Engineer / Assistant Manager – Procurement will be responsible for developing and executing cost-effective, timely, and quality-focused procurement strategies for electrical components, raw materials, equipment, and services. The role requires strong technical and commercial expertise in sourcing electrical systems and managing supplier relationships to support project and manufacturing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Sourcing
Develop and implement procurement strategies for:
Heavy electrical equipment
Electrical skids
Transformers
Switchgear
MCC panels
Power distribution systems
Related electrical components and services
Conduct strategic sourcing activities to ensure optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance.
Supplier & Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, and Production teams to define technical requirements and ensure supplier compliance.
Build and maintain long-term supplier relationships to ensure reliability, quality, and supply continuity.
Lead supplier performance reviews, audits, and development initiatives.
RFQ & Vendor Management
Prepare and manage:
Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
Bid evaluations
Technical-commercial comparisons
Vendor selection processes
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contractual conditions to achieve the best commercial outcomes.
