Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Tekla Detailer to join our structural steel detailing team. The role involves preparing high-quality fabrication and erection drawings from approved Tekla models for Australian projects.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Tekla Structures, strong drawing interpretation skills, and a good understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and finalize assembly, single-part, and erection drawings from Tekla models.
- Extract drawings from Tekla models in accordance with approved client samples and project standards.
- Review drawings for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and presentation quality.
- Revise drawings based on checker comments, engineering comments, and project requirements.
- Prepare complete fabrication and erection drawing packages.
- Support the preparation and generation of NC files, DXF files, BOMs, material lists, and reports.
- Coordinate with Tekla modelers, checkers, and project teams to resolve detailing-related issues.
- Resolve detailing RFIs and drawing discrepancies in coordination with modelers and checkers.
- Ensure drawings are practical and suitable for fabrication and site erection.
- Maintain project-specific drawing standards, templates, and approved samples.
- Identify missing information, clashes, and inconsistencies before drawings are issued.




- Ensure all drawings and deliverables are completed within project schedules and deadlines.
- Assist in maintaining consistent detailing and documentation standards across projects.
- Guide junior detailers and support the team in maintaining drawing quality and standards, where applicable.

Requirements
- 1–5 years of experience in structural steel detailing/drafting.
- Hands-on experience with Tekla Structures.
- Good understanding of assembly, single-part, and erection drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
- Knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection processes.
- Experience preparing or supporting NC, DXF, BOM, and project reports.
- Good understanding of drawing standards, revisions, and checking procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with modelers, checkers, engineers, and project teams.
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
- Knowledge of Australian Standards and Australian structural steel detailing practices will be an advantage.

Preferred Skills
- Experience working on Australian structural steel projects.
- Familiarity with Australian fabrication and erection requirements.
- Knowledge of AS/NZS standards relevant to structural steelwork.
- Experience working with approved drawing samples and client-specific standards.
- Understanding of fabrication workflows and CNC/NC requirements.
- Ability to identify constructability and detailing issues.
