Role & Responsibilities:
- Document Lifecycle Management: Drive the entire document creation lifecycle, including planning, writing, formatting, editing, reviewing, proofreading, and publishing procedural and technical content for both technical and non-technical users.
- Product Documentation: Develop and maintain product-related documentation such as user guides, how-to guides, release notes, and more, adhering to project guidelines, stakeholder direction, and release schedule timelines.
- Support Content: Create FAQs, troubleshooting guides, and support articles to assist users in addressing common questions and resolving issues effectively.
- Writing Excellence: Demonstrate excellent writing skills to produce clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences, with strong attention to detail.
- Language Proficiency: Ensure proficiency in English and adhere to technical writing standards, such as MSTP (Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications).
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and gather insights from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
- Feedback Incorporation: Constructively incorporate feedback into documentation improvements.
- Agile Alignment: Work in cadence with Agile teams for product details pertinent for feature content creation.
- Technical Simplification: Simplify complex technical concepts into transparent, understandable content,
employing creative strategies to make information engaging.
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Product Expertise: Become an expert on our products from both a technical and business standpoint.
- Team Player: Act as a team player with a collaborative mindset, contributing positively to group efforts.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Experience: 6 or more years of proven experience as a Technical Writer and leading a team of technical writers, especially for a Software Product.
- Product Taxonomy & Structure: Should have worked on creating product taxonomy and also on structuring content within a full-fledged Technical Product guide.
- Content Management Systems: Worked with Content Management Systems (e.g., Document360, Adobe FrameMaker).
- Authoring Tools: Experience with open-source authoring tools (Markdown and HTML experience preferred).
- Office Suite: Utilized tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Outlook with proficiency.
- Technical Documentation Portfolio: Experience in writing technical documentation, including overviews, how-to guides, user guides (API) documentation, and reference materials.
- Product Knowledge Acquisition: Acquire in-depth knowledge of the company's products from both technical and business perspectives.
- Document Review & Guidance: Conducted thorough reviews of technical documents and guided teams for continuous improvement.
