Technical Superintendent in the offshore sector OR with experience on Offshore vessels. A Technical Superintendent for offshore vessels manages the safe, compliant, and cost-effective operation of a fleet (AHTS, PSV, DP vessels).
Key responsibilities include planning maintenance, overseeing dry-dockings, managing budgets (OPEX/CAPEX), ensuring classification compliance (ISM/SOLAS), and providing 24/7 technical support to vessel crew and management.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and report the technical conditions and operational expenses for an assigned group of vessels in the fleet.
- Responsible for technical-related unplanned off-hires, port state control and class inspections.
- Furthermore, you maintain communication with the Operations Department on day-to-day matters in respect of voyage operations.
- Schedule and supervise planned and unplanned repairs,
inspections and dry dockings.
- Responsible for the class status of the vessel and for arranging surveys.
Qualifications:
- Chief Engineer with experience on offshore vessels, or experienced technical superintendent in the offshore sector.
- Experience of offshore standby/supply vessels is essential.
- Some electrical experience/knowledge would be a distinct advantage.
- Extensive experience as Chief Engineer, experience in ship repair/ship management.
- You will have strong planning and organisational skills, are willing to travel frequently and able to work under pressure.
- Positive verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English are essential.
- You must have a right to work in Ireland to be considered for this position.
