Technical Co-Founder | Electric Marine Propulsion

JX Marine Technologies Pvt Ltd is building electric propulsion and intelligent technology for India's coastal commercial fishing sector.

We are at an early stage and are now building the founding technical team.

I am looking for one technical co-founder who can take ownership of the engineering work and help build the propulsion system from the ground up.

This is not a conventional engineering job. There is no existing engineering team, established product architecture, or legacy system to maintain. The person joining will be involved in deciding what needs to be built, how it should be built, and how it should be tested.

What I am looking for

I am looking for an engineer with strong hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:

- Electric motor and propulsion systems
- PMSM / BLDC motors and motor control
- FOC, MTPA and field weakening
- Power electronics and inverter systems
- Battery systems and BMS
- Embedded systems and Embedded C
- STM32 or similar microcontrollers
- CAN and embedded communication
- Control systems, MATLAB/Simulink and system modelling
- Hardware development, PCB design and testing
- Intelligent fault detection or AI applied to physical systems

3+ years of relevant industry experience is preferred , particularly experience involving actual hardware development, testing, debugging and system integration. I will also consider exceptional candidates with less experience if they have demonstrated serious hands-on engineering through projects, research, prototypes, competitions, or previous work.





I am not looking for someone who has simply used these terms on a CV.

I want to understand what you have actually built, tested, debugged and taken responsibility for.

What the role requires:

You should be able to work independently and make progress without being given a task list every morning.

You will need to research unfamiliar technical problems, evaluate different approaches, make engineering decisions, build prototypes, test them, understand failures and improve the system.

You should be comfortable moving between simulation and real hardware.

You should also understand that an electric marine propulsion system is not just a motor. Battery, BMS, inverter, motor, control software, sensors, communication, thermal behaviour, mechanical integration, safety and reliability all have to work together.

The person joining will be expected to think at the system level, not only within one technical area.

What I expect from a technical co-founder:

Technical depth is essential. So is ownership.

I am looking for someone who can say:

“I don't know this yet, but I will find out, test it and come back with an answer.”

You should be comfortable challenging assumptions, making decisions with incomplete information,



and being accountable for the result.

You should also be prepared for the reality of an early-stage company. Priorities will change. Some approaches will fail. There will be no large engineering organization to solve problems for you.

What JX Marine offers:

This is a founding-team opportunity with equity, subject to the final structure and long-term commitment. You will work directly with me and have a direct role in the technical direction and development of JX Marine. There is no salary at this stage. I am stating that clearly rather than presenting this as a conventional paid engineering position.
