Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tanium Vulnerability Remediation Consultant to support a large-scale vulnerability remediation initiative. This consultant will play a critical role in reducing vulnerability backlogs by leveraging Tanium to identify, prioritize, automate, and remediate security vulnerabilities across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Tanium, vulnerability management, patching strategies, and stakeholder coordination.

Key Responsibilities

- Utilize Tanium to identify, assess, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities across enterprise systems.
- Review vulnerability findings at scale and prioritize remediation activities based on risk, exploitability, and business impact.
- Develop remediation plans that go beyond patch deployment, including mitigation strategies and compensating controls.
- Build and maintain one-time and recurring Tanium automations for vulnerability remediation and patch management.
- Manage patching and maintenance activities for operating systems and third-party applications.
- Analyze system dependencies and identify remediation blockers across applications, databases, and infrastructure.
- Coordinate with system owners, application teams, DBAs, infrastructure teams,



and security stakeholders to execute remediation plans.
- Drive aggressive reduction of vulnerability backlogs while maintaining operational stability.
- Monitor remediation effectiveness and provide status reporting, metrics, and risk updates.

Required Skills & Experience

- Has used Tanium in vulnerability management capacity recently and is expert level
- Ability to review vulnerabilities at large and then prioritize based on risk and business impact
- Understands vulnerability management, the need to not just look for patches but look for remediations
- Knows how to build both one time and repeating automations to continuously patch and maintain not just OS level, but 3rd party apps
- Ability to discover dependencies and communicate with other stakeholders (OS needs to be patched, old OS stuck because of old Oracle, contact system owner and DBA for planning, etc)

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting large enterprise environments with significant vulnerability backlogs.
- Familiarity with security compliance standards and vulnerability management best practices.
- Experience working closely with infrastructure, security operations, and application support teams.
