About Shoonya Recycling:
Shoonya Recycling (www.shoonyarecycling.in) is building India’s next-generation urban mining and critical materials recovery platform — starting with lithium-ion batteries and expanding into magnets, electronics, and advanced recycling systems.
We currently process 100,000 kg of battery scrap per month and are scaling to 500,000 kg/month by end-2026 .

Shoonya is founded by operators and engineers who’ve built profitable manufacturing businesses, production lines, and deep-tech systems across automotive, EVs, recycling, and automation. This is not a research lab. This is real execution, on real shop floors, with real impact.
Who This Role Is For
You’ll fit right in if you

If you’ve done Robocon, robotics clubs, industrial automation projects, machine vision systems, Arduino/Raspberry Pi/PLC work , you’ll feel at home. What You’ll Work On (Real Stuff)
1. Machines & Automation
- Design and develop battery sorting machines
- Work on battery disassembly and shredding automation
- Coordinate motors, drives, sensors, safety circuits, cameras, and controllers
- Commission machines on the shop floor
- Debug electrical, logic,
timing, and safety issues
2. Software, Vision & IoT
- Machine vision integration (OpenCV, cameras, lighting)
- Logic for classification, detection, counting, safety
- IoT dashboards, data logging, alerts
3. Embedded Systems & Controls
- Work with microcontrollers (Arduino / ESP32 / Raspberry Pi)
- Sensor interfacing, motor control, interlocks, fault handling
- Communication between embedded systems and PLCs
- Data capture and basic edge processing
4. End-to-End Ownership
- From concept → quick prototyping → working machine
- You own the system until it runs reliably on the shop floor
What We’re Looking For Must-Have Mindset
- Systems thinker with a builder’s attitude
- High curiosity, low ego
- Comfortable with ambiguity and messy realities
- Bias toward action over perfection
- Willing to get hands dirty (literally)
Preferred Background
- Mechatronics / Electronics / Electrical / Robotics / Instrumentation
- 3–5 years of experience
- Exposure to:
- Robotics / Robocon / SAE / Formula Student
- Machine vision projects. PLC or embedded systems projects
- Automation or industrial internships
Technical Exposure (Not All Mandatory)
- PLCs (Siemens / Delta / Allen Bradley / any equivalent)
- Embedded platforms: Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi
- Sensors, motors, VFDs, encoders, safety devices
- OpenCV / Python / C++ for vision or logic
- Basic industrial networking (Modbus, Ethernet, serial)
