Core Responsibilities:
- Strategic Material Sourcing: Procure critical raw materials (fluorspar, bauxite, soda ash, graphite) and high-quality packing materials (HDPE bags, jumbo bags) required for flux manufacturing and monolithic
- Engineering: Source specialized machinery parts, refractories, and consumables for the casting flux production line and monolithic
- Logistics & Freight Management: Negotiate and manage truck freight contracts for inbound raw materials and outbound finished product distribution.
- SAP Operations: Execute the full "Procure-to-Pay" cycle in SAP, including PR conversion, PO creation, and tracking material receipts.
- Current Vendor Development: Identify and onboard reliable suppliers for mineral ores and chemicals to reduce dependency on single sources.
- Vendor Evaluation: Conduct periodic audits and performance ratings based on quality consistency, lead times, and price stability.Cost Control: Implement cost-reduction initiatives through bulk buying, long-term contracts, and alternative material scouting.
Skill & Expertise:
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding mineral specifications (mesh size, moisture content, chemical purity) relevant to steel casting.
- SAP Proficiency: Advanced hands-on experience in the SAP MM (Materials Management) module.
- Logistics Savvy: Knowledge of freight market understandin and transporter management.
- Negotiation: Proven ability to handle high-stakes negotiations with raw material miners and logistics providers.Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with GST, E-way bills, and safety standards for handling industrial minerals.
- Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of direct experience in procurement within the steel, metallurgical, or chemical manufacturing sectors.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Industry Background: Prior experience in a Steel Casting Flux or related mineral processing plant is a significant advantage.
