Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures on patients of all ages
- Home Collection of blood samples following proper procedures and safety protocols
- Label and store specimens accurately for laboratory testing
- Maintain patient comfort and address concerns during procedures
- Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of equipment and work areas
- Verify patient identity and maintain accurate records
- Follow infection control and biohazard safety guidelines
- Coordinate with laboratory staff for timely sample processing
Requirements:
- Certification in Phlebotomy or relevant healthcare qualification
- Proven experience as a phlebotomist (preferred but not always required)
- Knowledge of blood collection techniques and medical terminology
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to handle patients calmly and professionally
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in hospitals, clinics, or diagnostic labs
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- CPR/First Aid certification
