Position Summary

The Assistant Production Manager supports the Production Manager in the day-to-day running of the honey packing and production floor, including, filling, labeling, packaging, and shipment preparation. This role provides hands-on operational support, coordinates a small team, contributes to production planning, and helps ensure every batch of honey meets quality, food-safety, and customer specifications on time.

Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management: Provide operational support across the production floor and act as first point of contact for day-to-day production issues, using established systems, SOPs, and protocols to keep lines running smoothly.
- Operating Machines and Equipment: Operate and adjust production equipment — including filling and capping lines, labeling and coding machines, shrink-wrap and case-sealing equipment, and palletizing tools — to optimize honey quality, fill accuracy, and line throughput. Identify and resolve recurring inefficiencies on the line.
- Production Planning:



Contribute data to daily and weekly production plans: run reports on batch output, yield, and downtime; check figures for accuracy; and distribute production information to the Production Manager and relevant teams.
- Leadership and Direction: Coordinate line staff and packers during shifts while performing hands-on production work alongside the team.
- Equipment Changeover: Assist with changeovers between honey varieties, container sizes, and label formats, and conduct changeover inspections under guidance to confirm the line is set correctly before restart.
- Equipment Total Productive Maintenance: Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues, support emergency repairs, and carry out routine preventive maintenance on fillers, cappers, labelers, and packaging machinery.
