Role Description The Staff Nurse role is a full time, on-site position based at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai.
The Staff
Nurse will provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, assisting with procedures, and supporting daily living activities in accordance with established clinical protocols.
Responsibilities include maintaining accurate medical records, coordinating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and ensuring adherence to infection control and safety standards. The role involves educating patients and families about treatment plans,
post-discharge care, and health maintenance.
The Staff
Nurse will also participate in quality improvement initiatives, respond to emergencies, and support a culture of compassion, dignity, and respect in all patient interactions.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing qualification (e.g., Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing) and current registration with the appropriate nursing council.
- Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, medication administration, and basic nursing procedures in inpatient or outpatient settings.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation, follow hospital protocols, and comply with infection control and safety guidelines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide clear patient and family education.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, with a high level of reliability, empathy, and professional integrity.
- Prior experience in a hospital or acute care environment is preferred; exposure to specialized units (e.g., ICU, emergency, medical-surgical) is an advantage.
- Basic computer literacy to use hospital information systems and electronic medical records.
