Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Fashion Designer to lead the conceptualization and development of luxury ready-to-wear and couture collections.

The ideal candidate should possess exceptional creative vision, technical expertise, and a deep appreciation for Indian textiles, embroidery, draping, and garment construction. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver collections that embody the design philosophy of Label Anamika Khanna.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and development of seasonal and capsule womenswear collections from concept to final production.
- Research international fashion trends, silhouettes, textiles, colours, and consumer insights.
- Develop seasonal mood boards, inspiration stories, colour palettes, fabric directions, and embroidery concepts.
- Create fashion illustrations, technical flats, and detailed specification sheets.
- Collaborate closely with embroidery, textile, sampling, pattern-making, merchandising, sourcing, and production teams.
- Source and develop premium fabrics, trims, embellishments, and handcrafted surface techniques.
- Conduct fittings and review prototypes to ensure impeccable fit, construction, and luxury finishing.
- Work closely with artisans to develop cutting-edge hand embroidery and textile techniques.




- Ensure collections align with the creative vision of the brand while maintaining commercial viability.
- Mentor junior designers and support their creative and technical development.
- Manage collection calendars and ensure the timely execution of design milestones.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Fashion Design from NIFT, NID, or an equivalent reputed institute.
- 6–10 years of experience in luxury women's wear, designer labels, couture, or premium fashion.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in luxury womenswear and complete collection development.
- Excellent understanding of draping, garment construction, pattern development, and couture finishing.
- Extensive knowledge of Indian textiles, artisanal crafts, hand embroidery, and surface ornamentation.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong visual storytelling, sketching, and presentation skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management abilities.

Preferred Experience

- Experience working with luxury fashion houses, couture labels, premium designer brands, or export-oriented apparel companies.
- Strong exposure to handcrafted textiles, Indian embroidery techniques, and contemporary silhouettes.
- Experience managing complete collection development cycles from concept through runway, retail, or production.

Profile & Portfolio Shortlisting

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their CV, relevant experience, and portfolio . Particular emphasis will be placed on experience in luxury womenswear, couture, craftsmanship, garment construction, and collection development.

2. Design Assignment

Shortlisted candidates will be given a design assignment relevant to the role. The completed assignment must be submitted within 48 hours of receiving the brief.

3. Virtual Interaction / Zoom Interview

Candidates who successfully complete the assignment may be invited for a Zoom interaction with the Design or Creative team to further assess their creative approach, technical knowledge, experience, and suitability for the role.

4. Three-Day Practical Trial – Kolkata

Selected candidates will be invited for a 3-day practical trial at the Anamika Khanna studio in Topsia, Kolkata .

The trial will provide an opportunity to assess the candidate's design sensibility, technical capabilities, execution skills, ability to collaborate with the team, and suitability for working within the brand's creative environment.

5. Final Evaluation & Selection The final selection will be based on the candidate's overall performance across the portfolio review, design assignment, virtual interaction, and practical trial , followed by discussions regarding compensation, the role, and joining formalities.
