Job Title: BY-WMS Engineer

Mode of Work: Hybrid work from office

Shift Timings: 2.30 PM IST to 11.30 PM IST The Senior WMS Engineer will drive functional and technical design, solution delivery, and continuous improvement of the Blue Yonder WMS platform. This individual is accountable for integrated technology delivery execution, collaborating across IT, business, and distribution centre teams to ensure warehouse operations run at peak efficiency.

MOCA Architecture

- Deep understanding of Messaging, Object, Command Architecture the command layer underpinning BY WMS logic, scripting, and customization.

Integration: APIs, EDI Middleware

- Experience with SOAP/REST web services to connect WMS with ERP, TMS, and other systems; middleware tools includingBoomi and Azure

SQL RDBMS

- 2+ years proficient SQL across Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL for data analysis, troubleshooting, reporting, and performance tuning.

ERP / TMS Connectivity

Code Log Analysis

- Analyse application code, WMS configuration, data, and system logs to root-cause errors and drive resolution and optimization.

Functional Specifications Test Planning

- Author functional design documents, technical specs, and test scenarios;identifyand close design gaps across workstreams.

WMS Deployment Support

- Support deploying software deliveries from Blue Yonder/JDA associates;Creating rollout scripts;managechangesacross development, QA, and production environments.

Key Responsibilities

WMS Solution Design Development

- Design, develop, andoptimizethe BY WMS solution to support warehouse operations and strategic projects
- Configure and customize Blue Yonder WMS modules to meet evolving business requirements
- Analyse code, configuration, data, and logs to find root causes of errors and revise the solution
- Support deploying software deliveries from Blue Yonder / JDA associates
- Lead functional design efforts:



business process design, functional specifications, and test planning
- Collaborate with stakeholders toidentifyand address design gaps
- Support development of test strategy and identification of test scenarios

Integration Systems Architecture

- Connect BY WMS to ERP, TMS, and adjacent systems using SOAP/REST web services, APIs, and EDI
- Leverage middleware platforms (MuleSoft, TIBCO, Boomi) for enterprise integration patterns
- Analyse, define, and document technical requirements for data, workflow, logic, and system interfaces

Warehouse Operations Analytics

- Collect, analyse, and interpret warehouse data: inventory levels, order volumes, picking accuracy, shipping/receiving performance
- Develop and track KPIs to measure warehouse performance,identifytrends, and report to management
- Identifybottlenecks and inefficiencies; propose and implement process improvements tooptimizeefficiency
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and implement measures to minimize stock discrepancies

Cross-functional Collaboration Training

- Partner with BY/JDA team, integration team, IT applications, and business teams for seamless alignment
- Work directly with Distribution Centre managers and associates to understand and solve operational pain points
- Develop and deliver training programs and documentation for warehouse staff on current processes and system updates

Qualifications

Required

- Bachelors degree in MIS, Computer Science, CIS, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years working with Blue Yonder / JDA WMS; at least1full-cycle implementation as Engineer or Consultantin Blue yonder WMS cloud versions
- 2+ years technical experience with RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL); proficient SQL
- Hands-on experience configuring and customizing Blue Yonder WMS modules




- MOCA (Movement Oriented Component Architecture): The foundational framework used by Blue Yonder to build, customize, and execute backend logic, tasks, and workflows.
- Java/J2EE: Crucial for customizing the application , modifyingintegrations , and building custom components.
- Perl or comparable language: Increasinglyutilizedfor scripting, automation, and data analysis
- API Web Services: Expertisein designing and testing integrations using RESTful APIs , JSON , and SOAP
- Jasper Reports: Hands-on experience designing and developing Jasper Reports.
- Page builders: Hands-on experience building and customizing pages using page builder frameworks.
- Middleware Data Exchange: Familiarity with data formats (XML, CSV) and integrating the WMS with HOST/ERP systems and Automated Material Handling (MHE) equipment
- RF Automation Hardware: Configuring and troubleshooting Radio Frequency (RF) scanners,printersand conveyor systems
- System Configuration: Mapping warehouse layouts, defining picking strategies, wave management, and replenishment logic.
- SQL PL/SQL: Writing complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers to pull or manipulate data directly from the WMS database.
- Strong understanding of supply chain and warehousing concepts
- Experience with Agilemethodologyand API-based integrations
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, design, and development skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with IT and business stakeholders including DC managers/associates

Preferred

- Comparable experience with other best-of-breed WMS applications in addition to BY WMS
- Retail eCommerce experience
- Experience in working on the integration technologies such asBoomi,Azure Data FactoryandAzure Event Grid
- Exposure to Microsoft Power BI
- Experience with Parcel shipping software such asProship,LabelMaster,etc..
- Exposure to label printers, hipprintersand all the warehouseequipmentand devices
