We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer (PHP) to build, enhance, and support web applications. The ideal candidate should have strong PHP development experience, good knowledge of databases and API integrations, and a focus on code quality, secure development, and reliable deployments.

Contract Period: 6 months

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, enhance, and maintain web applications using Core PHP and PHP frameworks such as Laravel or CodeIgniter.
- Build responsive and user-friendly interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and related web technologies.
- Design, develop, and consume REST APIs and third-party integrations.
- Write clean, maintainable, secure, and well-documented code following coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure good code quality across releases.
- Work with SQL databases, including database design, writing complex queries, stored procedures, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with QA, business, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions on time.
- Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity in coding, debugging, test-case creation, documentation, and code reviews.
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment.
- Support deployment, monitoring, and issue resolution across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.
- Deploy and maintain applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or similar environments.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement stable fixes.

Required Skills

- Around 6 years of hands-on experience in PHP web application development.
- Strong experience in Core PHP and at least one PHP framework, preferably Laravel or CodeIgniter.
- Good knowledge of MySQL or similar relational databases.
- Strong SQL skills, including joins, subqueries, query optimisation, indexing, stored procedures, and database performance tuning.
- Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, authentication, and third-party API integrations.
- Experience using Git and following branching, pull-request, and code-review practices.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools and automated deployment processes.
- Experience deploying and supporting applications on AWS, Azure, or another cloud platform.
- Familiarity with secure coding practices, application performance optimisation, logging, monitoring, and debugging.
- Experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar tools as part of the software-development lifecycle.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced workplace.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerised deployments.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum delivery practices.
- Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and unit/integration testing.
- Experience working with Salesforce or other enterprise-system integrations.
