Role & responsibilities
- Design, develop, program, and implement PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) logic for various industrial processes using platforms such as Schneider Electric,Siemens, Rockwell (Allen-Bradley), Mitsubishi, etc.
- Configure, develop, and implement SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, including HMI (Human Machine Interface) development, alarm management, data logging, and reporting.
- Develop and integrate communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA) between PLCs, SCADA, and other industrial devices.
- Conduct testing, debugging, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of PLC/SCADA systems to ensure functionality, efficiency, and safety.
- Prepare technical documentation including functional design specifications, software design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical support and guidance to team members, and ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in industrial automation.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 to 8 years of proven experience in PLC programming and SCADA development.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram (FBD), and Structured Text (ST).
- Hands-on experience with at least one major PLC platform (e.g., Schneider Unity Pro, Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000, Mitsubishi GX Works).
- Experience with SCADA software packages (e.g., Wonderware Intouch, Ignition, WinCC, FactoryTalk View, Citect SCADA).
- Solid understanding of industrial automation principles, control loops, and process instrumentation.
- Knowledge of various industrial communication protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&ID; diagrams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to client sites for commissioning and support as needed
