Manager / Sr. Manager IT Infrastructure, Network & Telecom (Site Lead)

Role: Site Lead – Infrastructure, Network & Telecom
Job Summary The Manager / Sr. Manager – IT Infrastructure, Network & Telecom will be responsible for end-to-end IT infrastructure operations at the site, with Network and Telecom as the core areas of responsibility. The role will act as the Site Lead and primary escalation point for network, connectivity, telecom, infrastructure, security and service availability.
The candidate will manage LAN/WAN, routing & switching, firewalls, VPN, ILL, ISP, SIP, PRI, servers, virtualization, monitoring, vendors and infrastructure projects, ensuring high availability, security, scalability and business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Infrastructure & Leadership
- Own end-to-end site IT infrastructure operations, availability and performance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for site-level IT infrastructure, network and telecom requirements.
- Lead infrastructure planning, capacity management, technology upgrades and site expansions.
- Coordinate with central IT, Information Security, Operations, Admin, vendors and business stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor the site-level IT infrastructure/network team and Telecom PAN India.
- Support backup, DR and BCP implementation and periodic testing.
2. Network Management – Core Responsibility
- Manage enterprise LAN/WAN, VLAN, routing, switching, Wi-Fi, VPN and network segmentation.
- Manage routers, switches, firewalls and network security infrastructure.
- Monitor network availability, bandwidth utilization, latency, packet loss and performance.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues and coordinate with OEMs/service providers.
- Ensure network redundancy, failover and capacity planning.
- Maintain network diagrams, IP/VLAN documentation and configuration records.
- Implement network changes in accordance with approved change-management procedures.
3. Telecom & ISP Management PAN India – Core Responsibility
- Manage end-to-end PRI, SIP Trunk, ILL, MPLS/SD-WAN, Internet and backup connectivity.
- Coordinate with ISP and telecom operators for recent provisioning, feasibility, installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
- Manage bandwidth upgrades, circuit migration, shifting, termination and new site connectivity.
- Manage SIP/PRI provisioning, routing, DID/number management and capacity planning.
- Troubleshoot SIP/PRI call drops, voice quality, and latency, jitter, and packet loss and connectivity issues.
- Ensure primary and backup ISP connectivity for business-critical operations.
- Monitor ISP/telecom SLA, uptime, bandwidth and service performance.
- Drive vendor escalations and ensure timely restoration of critical telecom services.
- Maintain complete inventory of ILL/ISP/PRI/SIP circuits, bandwidth, IPs, vendors, SLA and escalation details.
- Review telecom bills against active services and drive cost optimization and bandwidth rationalization.
- Conduct periodic ISP/telecom failover and redundancy testing.
4. Security & Compliance
- Coordinate with InfoSec teams for firewall, VPN, IDS/IPS, endpoint and network security controls.
- Ensure infrastructure complies with organizational security standards and applicable frameworks such as ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOC 2 and DPDP Act.
- Support vulnerability assessments, security audits and remediation activities.
- Ensure proper access control, network segmentation and secure configuration.
5. Monitoring, Incident & Problem Management
- Ensure proactive monitoring and real-time alerting for critical network, telecom and infrastructure components.
- Lead resolution of major network, ISP,
telecom and infrastructure incidents.
- Perform RCA and CAPA for recurring and critical incidents.
- Track infrastructure and connectivity uptime against defined SLAs/KPIs.
- Drive preventive actions to reduce recurring failures.
6. Vendor & Project Management
- Manage relationships with ISPs, telecom operators, OEMs and infrastructure vendors.
- Ensure vendor SLA compliance and conduct periodic performance reviews.
- Manage infrastructure/telecom projects from requirement gathering through implementation and handover.
- Support technical evaluation, procurement, renewals and commercial negotiations.
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines and budgets.
7. Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain updated network diagrams, infrastructure inventory, and telecom circuit inventory, SOPs, escalation matrix and DR documentation.
- Evaluate technologies such as SD-WAN, network automation, cloud connectivity and centralized monitoring.
- Drive infrastructure standardization, automation, capacity planning and cost optimization.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, Telecommunications or related field.
- 8–12 years of experience in IT Infrastructure, Network and Telecom management.
- Strong hands-on experience in enterprise networking, ISP and telecom operations.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLAN, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VPN and firewalls.
- Practical experience with PRI, SIP, ILL, MPLS/SD-WAN and ISP connectivity.
- Experience in telecom/ISP new provisioning, migration, troubleshooting and vendor coordination.
- Experience with VMware, Hyper-V or Proxmox.
- Working knowledge of AWS/Azure/GCP is preferred.
- Strong experience in incident, change, problem and vendor management.
Preferred Certifications
- CCNP / CCIE
- ITIL Foundation
- Fortinet / Cisco / Sophos certifications (Will be added advantage)
- CISSP / CISM or equivalent security certification (Will be added advantage)
