Main Purpose
Responsible for all piping engineering activities of the project. The candidate shall be responsible for project management, budget control, engineering, interface management, support to construction, facilitating commissioning, troubleshooting, and steady-state support.
Job Accountabilities:
- Adhere to the HSE requirements stipulated by the Company.
- Prepare in-house conceptual and basic engineering, including plot plans.
- Prepare Scope of Work (SOW) for detailed engineering consultants and construction contractors.
- Prepare budgetary cost estimates for engineering, materials, and construction.
- Review engineering deliverables prepared by the Engineering Consultant.
- Conduct 3D model reviews and address interface issues.
- Conduct technical bid evaluations, manage MTOs, and recommend placement of orders for valves, piping bulks, and fire water items.
- Review engineering documents prepared by Vendors in coordination with the Engineering Consultant.
- Manage engineering interfaces and interdisciplinary coordination for plot plans, equipment layouts, equipment, and packages.
- Manage Vendors, including document approval, expediting, inspection, and dispatch.
- Support the Construction team in fabrication, erection, and testing by providing AFC drawings and materials as per the project schedule.
- Address field engineering issues and audit observations.
- Support O&M; in commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and steady-state activities.
- Carry out root cause analysis for failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Implement lessons learned from past projects and value engineering initiatives.
- Conduct on-the-job training for subordinates.
- Adhere to the values and behaviours stipulated by the Company.
Skills Required:
- Should be well conversant with applicable piping codes and standards, including ASME, ASTM, API, OISD, etc.
- Should be conversant with PFDs, P&IDs;, process requirements, statutory requirements, plant safety requirements, operation and maintenance needs, constructability aspects, etc.
- Should be conversant with the preparation of conceptual plot plans, equipment layouts, budget estimates, specifications, MTOs, etc.
- Should be conversant with design requirements for pulsating lines, acoustically induced vibrating lines, etc.
- Should be conversant with the preparation of SOWs and deliverable lists for DEC, construction SOWs, BOQs, etc.
- Should be conversant with the review and approval of plot plans, equipment layouts, drawings, specifications, calculations, data sheets, 3D models, etc.
- Should be conversant with interdisciplinary checks and coordination.
- Should have cross-disciplinary functional knowledge of Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Civil, and Structural disciplines.
- Should be capable of managing Vendors and external stakeholders.
- Should possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Should possess analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Qualification and Experience:
- Candidate should be a graduate engineer (BE/BTech) in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university and should have overall experience of 15 to 20 years in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/CBM industry.
- Candidate should have worked on Concept, FEED, and detailed engineering of at least one project in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/CBM industry.
- Candidate should have experience in handling reputed national/international Engineering Consultants and Package/Equipment Vendors.
