Role Description The Sr.
Field
Associate is a full-time, on-site role based in Valsad, working closely with rural and tribal communities to implement BFC’s programs on the ground. This role involves coordinating field activities, facilitating community meetings, and supporting the rollout of initiatives in agriculture, enterprise development, and livelihood enhancement. The Sr.
Field
Associate will gather and document field data, monitor project progress, and provide regular updates and reports to the project and program teams.
Responsibilities include building strong relationships with local stakeholders, supporting training and capacity-building workshops for youth and women,
and ensuring that activities align with program goals and community needs. The role also includes collaborating with internal teams and partners, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping scale successful interventions across the region.
Qualifications
- Strong field facilitation and community engagement skills, including the ability to build trust with rural and tribal communities and conduct meetings and trainings effectively.
- Project coordination and implementation skills, such as planning activities, managing timelines, tracking progress, and supporting monitoring and evaluation efforts.
- Data collection, documentation, and reporting skills, including basic proficiency with digital tools (e.g., spreadsheets, mobile data apps) and clear written communication.
- Knowledge or experience in domains such as agriculture and climate-resilient practices, livelihood and enterprise development, and financial inclusion or related rural development themes.
- Robust interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team in field settings.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, rural development, agriculture, economics, or a related field; relevant field experience with NGOs or development programs is highly preferred.
- Comfort with local languages spoken in and around Valsad, and willingness to travel within the district and nearby regions as required.
