About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at Potential Engineering. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the development of mechanical equipment and assemblies for our water treatment solutions.

This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in designing and detailing mechanical components using industry-standard CAD software. The role involves creating detailed drawings, preparing Bills of Materials, and collaborating closely with manufacturing, procurement, and site teams to ensure seamless project execution. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical design principles, fabrication processes, and material selection, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Qualifications





- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 7-8 years of proven experience in mechanical design, preferably within water treatment, industrial equipment, or related sectors.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
- Strong skills in AutoCAD for 2D layout and interface drawings.
- Experience in preparing General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Fundamental understanding of machine design, fabrication, and machining processes.
- Knowledge of material selection, GD&T; standards, and engineering documentation practices.
- Ability to perform basic mechanical design calculations and support standardization initiatives.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

- Design and develop mechanical equipment, assemblies, and components using SolidWorks, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Create detailed General Arrangement (GA) drawings, part drawings, and fabrication drawings to facilitate manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Prepare comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM) and collaborate with procurement and manufacturing teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
- Perform mechanical design calculations, including stress analysis and material selection, to validate design integrity and performance.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, project, and site teams to clarify design details, address technical issues,



and incorporate feedback for continuous improvement.
- Support the standardization of products and drawings to streamline production and reduce costs.
- Revise drawings based on client feedback, internal reviews, and site observations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
- Ensure all designs adhere to applicable engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of engineering best practices and documentation control procedures.
