About this Role
We are seeking a DataOps Engineer to design, implement and operate security data onboarding, transformation and validation pipelines that support Cyber Security Data Platforms. This role focuses on ensuring data quality, integrity, lineage and governance compliance across security monitoring, analytics and automation platforms, including SIEM and SOAR services. The successful candidate will work across multi-cloud environments and modern data engineering technologies to deliver reliable, scalable and supportable security data flows that enable effective cyber security operations and analytics.
What you’ll do
- Design, onboard, transform, validate and deliver telemetry, log and event data into Security Monitoring & Analytics platforms using scalable and reusable ingestion patterns.
- Build and maintain source-to-target data onboarding processes across security data platforms and analytics services.
- Monitor and maintain data quality, integrity, completeness and reliability across security data flows, including event loss detection and log volume monitoring.
- Configure, troubleshoot, optimise and support data ingestion pipelines and associated tooling to ensure reliable and high-performing operations.
- Create, manage and maintain data schemas, mappings and transformations while ensuring documentation aligns with Security Monitoring & Analytics governance standards.
- Implement and maintain data lineage, metadata controls and ownership tagging to support governance requirements and regulatory obligations.
- Support incident response activities, root cause analysis and remediation for data outages, event loss, performance issues and excessive data volumes.
- Work with technologies such as Cribl, Logstash,
ELK/Elastic and related pipeline tooling to create scalable and maintainable security data flows.
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, DevOps teams, architects, security operations teams and source-system owners to ensure end-to-end data flow alignment.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reliability, observability, operational efficiency and data governance across cyber security platforms.
Who you are
- Proven hands-on experience in DataOps, Data Engineering, Data Onboarding or related roles delivering production data pipelines for security telemetry, log or event data.
- Experience working with SIEM technologies such as Google SecOps (Chronicle), ArcSight or equivalent enterprise security monitoring platforms.
- Practical experience building and operating data ingestion, routing and transformation pipelines using Cribl, Logstash, ELK/Elastic or similar technologies.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Understanding of cloud-native data services, operational monitoring and security-focused data architectures.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash or equivalent technologies.
- Experience implementing automated data quality checks, schema validation, metadata management, lineage tracking and pipeline observability.
- Understanding of security, reliability, governance and compliance requirements within cyber security environments.
- Ability to support incident investigation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production data platform issues.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
- Experience with automation and workflow tooling and designing system maintenance and troubleshooting procedures is desirable.
- Experience working within DevSecOps or IT Operations environments supporting security data platforms is advantageous.
