Role Description This is a full time, on-site Special Educator role based at Universal High School in Mumbai.

The Special

Educator will design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for learners with diverse needs, aligning support with the school’s curriculum and standards. Daily responsibilities include assessing student abilities, adapting lesson materials, providing targeted instructional support in classrooms and small-group settings, and collaborating with general education teachers to ensure inclusive practices. The role also involves regular communication with families and guardians, maintaining detailed documentation of student progress,



and coordinating with school counselors or support staff as needed.

The Special

Educator will participate in professional development, contribute to school-wide inclusion initiatives, and support a safe, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

- Solid understanding of Special Education and diverse Disabilities, including experience developing and implementing IEPs or similar support plans.
- Demonstrated Teaching skills, preferably with experience in Middle School or primary/secondary education settings.
- Effective Communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with educators, families, and support staff, and to document student progress clearly.
- Relevant degree or certification in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a closely related field.
- Knowledge of inclusive classroom strategies, behavior management, and differentiated instruction techniques.
- Ability to work on-site in Mumbai and engage positively with learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Prior experience in school-based special education services or inclusive education programs is highly beneficial.
