Role Description:

This is a full-time, on-site Solutions Architect role based in Bengaluru.

The Solutions

Architect will design end-to-end technical architectures that align with customer business requirements and Palnar’s best practices. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to understand business processes, defining integration approaches, reviewing software designs, and guiding development teams on implementation. The role involves consulting with clients on technology choices, ensuring scalability, performance, and security across solutions, and supporting project teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.

The Solutions

Architect will also participate in technical reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of architecture standards and methodologies.

We are evolving this role from a pure development position into a Solution Architect role. We are looking for a self-driven, coding-passionate engineer who takes true ownership of the solution, leads by example, and proactively shapes the architecture and technical direction of our product.

Your Responsibilities

Architecture & Technical Ownership

- Own the end-to-end solution architecture — design, evolve and safeguard a clean, modular and cross-platform architecture (Windows, Linux, iOS, Android)
- Translate product and business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions and a clear architecture roadmap
- Proactively identify architectural risks, technical debt and improvement opportunities, and drive their resolution
- Act as the technical decision-maker and escalation point for architecture-level questions within the team

Hands-on Development

- Development and maintenance of applications in C# — staying hands-on and coding alongside the team, not just designing on paper
- Participation in driving our test strategy forward
- Participation in designing and maintaining our development eco-system, as well as our CI/CD pipelines using GitLab/Jenkins to automate build, test and release processes
- Evaluation and documentation of libraries/frameworks/tools, and creation of development guidelines and best practices

Leadership & Collaboration

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers, raising the team's architectural maturity
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure a stable and efficient development workflow to achieve a high quality of our software artefacts
- Champion a culture of ownership, quality, and proactive problem-solving across the team

Qualification• Degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification

Technical Skills (unchanged core requirements)

- Strong proficiency in C# and experienced in designing and implementing user interfaces using Windows Presentation Foundation (experience in cross-platform frameworks like Avalonia is a plus)
- Python is a plus, as is the openness to learning new programming languages
- Experience in Design Patterns in Software Architecture is appreciated — for a Solution Architect this is a strong differentiator
- Experience in test automation, preferably using Ranorex, is a plus
- Hands-on experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines for multiple target systems
- Confident use of common IDEs like JetBrains Rider, VSCode or similar
- Good communication skills in English (German is a plus)

Architecture-Level Additions

- Demonstrated experience designing solution/software architecture for cross-platform, multi-target systems
- Ability to balance pragmatic delivery with long-term architectural vision
- Familiarity with enterprise/solution architecture practices (e.g. C4 model, ADRs, architecture reviews) is a plus

Soft Skills

- Self-driven and proactive — takes initiative without waiting to be told, and anticipates problems before they arise
- Genuine passion for coding — stays hands-on and technically credible, not purely a design-on-paper architect
- Solid sense of ownership — treats the solution as their own, end-to-end, from design to production quality

- Leadership mindset — leads by example, mentors others, and influences technical direction even without formal authority
- Open-minded, willing to learn and forward-looking attitude
- Curious and scrutinizes the status quo
- Not afraid to put forward ideas and suggestions
- Analytical thinking, structured approach, and team-oriented mindset
- Security-focused and test-driven development attitude

Vision for the Functional Software Development Team• Currently 6 team members

◦ Two lead software developers with an affinity for architecture

◦ One for the Communicator, C# is developing into an architecture role

◦ One person on a higher level to consider requirements for products, embedded and Communicator

◦ Two C# developers to work in Communicator

◦ Two persons between embedded and Communicator (C++/C#)

- Team Coach is also responsible for the software development process worldwide
- In future: Communicator is a kind of toolbox:

◦ Standardized modules, clean architecture and interfaces

◦ We can combine modules with each other as we like to create solutions for certain target groups, such as external customers, internal technicians, or for specific solutions, such as for calibrating products

◦ Should be independent of a target platform ⇒ cross-platform capable (Windows, Linux, iOS or Android, possibly also MacOS)

◦ Interface should also be detached from the platform ⇒ goal: Avalonia, so that we can create UI for different target platforms: desktop, mobile and web

- Part of the existing team is already implementing disruptive applications to drive forward digitalization and automation efforts:

◦ Mobile Application for iOS and Android to commission Bluetooth enabled Products

◦ Application for automated name plate generation, to drive forward automation and digitalization within our Factories — reducing manual efforts to zero, enabling new technical possibilities and gaining performance benefits for lasering our products

Stack of Technologies for Digital Tool Chain

Programming Languages• .NET / C#

◦ Change to cross-platform development: C# for Win, Linux, Web, Google Android, Apple iOS

◦ Windows Presentation Framework → Avalonia

◦ Vision: develop Communicator into a platform

- Python
- GoLang

CI/CD Tools, Tool Chain• Jenkins

- git / GitLab
- Jira Software, XRay
- JetBrains IDEs, Upsource
- Coverity → SonarQube

Change in 2025• Improving software development by stricter roles and process, transparent KPIs

- Security-driven development → CRA

- • Focus on test automation
