People Crown Consulting is hiring on behalf of its client, a growing global software consulting and product engineering organization, for a Solutions Architect – Java with strong experience in Insurance and Insurance Distribution .

This is a senior, hands-on and client-facing architecture role involving ownership of a Java-based Broker / Distributor Commission Management platform used by insurance and financial-services clients.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the technical direction and evolution of the platform, working across product architecture, client solutioning, roadmap ownership and technical delivery .

The platform covers areas including:

- Producer, broker and distributor administration
- Organisation and compensation hierarchies
- Producer licensing and credential compliance
- Compensation schedules and commission calculation
- Selling agreements and contracts
- Transaction processing
- Commission debt and payment workflows
- Integrations with policy administration, regulatory and payment systems

You will work directly with insurance carriers, brokers and other client stakeholders to understand their requirements, design solutions and translate them into scalable product and engineering plans.

Key Responsibilities

- Own and evolve the technical/product roadmap for the Java-based platform.
- Balance client requirements, technical debt, scalability and platform capabilities.
- Lead discovery workshops and solutioning with insurance clients.




- Translate insurance business and regulatory requirements into architectural and delivery plans.
- Design solutions around producer/distributor hierarchies, licensing, compensation, commissions and payment workflows.
- Define architecture for configurable, rules-driven and integration-heavy systems.
- Evaluate configure vs customise vs integrate options for client requirements.
- Design integrations with policy administration, licensing/regulatory and payment/ledger systems.
- Prepare solution architecture documents, technical proposals, estimates and SOWs.
- Act as the primary technical contact for key client stakeholders.
- Lead resolution of technical issues, escalations and integration challenges.
- Feed client requirements and learnings back into the product roadmap.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Sales and Delivery teams.

What We're Looking For
- 15+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture.
- Strong and substantial Java enterprise architecture experience.
- Experience in a client-facing Solutions Architect, Technical Product Owner or architecture leadership role.
- Strong experience in Insurance / InsurTech , particularly insurance distribution.
- Practical understanding of areas such as:
- Producer / broker / distributor management
- Producer and organisation hierarchies




- Licensing and appointments
- Credential / compliance management
- Compensation schedules
- Commission calculation
- Selling agreements
- Commission transactions
- Debt / settlement / payment processing
- Experience owning or significantly influencing product/platform roadmaps .
- Experience translating business requirements into technical architecture and delivery plans.
- Strong experience with enterprise integrations, APIs and data movement.
- Experience with configuration-driven or rules-based business systems is highly desirable.
- Strong client communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience preparing technical proposals, architecture documents and SOWs.

Good to Have Experience with platforms such as:
- SAP Commissions / Callidus
- Xactly
- Varicent
- Oracle Incentive Compensation
- Other broker, distributor or incentive compensation platforms

Exposure to AWS, Azure or GCP is an advantage.

Important

Insurance experience alone is not sufficient for this role.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked on insurance distribution, producer/broker management, commissions, compensation or related platforms and can demonstrate an understanding of how these processes work in real-world implementations.
