About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Solar Engineer with strong technical and design capabilities to join our growing solar EPC team in Kolkata.

This is a technical engineering role, combining solar PV system design, site assessment, feasibility analysis, electrical design, BOQ preparation and project support.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with PVsyst, AutoCAD and other solar design/engineering tools, and should be able to take a project from initial site survey and feasibility through technical design and execution support.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and engineer rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems, with a focus on commercial and industrial (C&I;) projects
- Conduct detailed site surveys and assess rooftop conditions, available area, shading, orientation and structural considerations
- Perform solar feasibility studies and system sizing
- Prepare PV system layouts and electrical drawings using AutoCAD
- Perform energy yield simulations and system analysis using PVsyst
- Develop single-line diagrams (SLDs), string layouts and electrical system designs
- Select appropriate modules, inverters, mounting systems, cables and other major system components
- Prepare BOQs, material specifications and technical documentation
- Support project costing and technical inputs for commercial proposals




- Evaluate electrical infrastructure, transformer capacity, LT/HT systems and grid interconnection requirements
- Support net-metering / grid-connection documentation and local approval requirements
- Coordinate with EPC teams, vendors, contractors and clients during project execution
- Review technical drawings, installation quality and project progress
- Visit client sites regularly for surveys, technical assessments and project support
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and project reports

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field
- Minimum 1+ year of professional experience in Solar PV / Solar EPC
- Strong practical understanding of solar PV system design and engineering
- Hands-on experience with PVsyst
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD
- Good understanding of electrical systems, SLDs, cables, protection systems and grid connections
- Ability to perform solar system sizing and energy yield analysis
- Ability to prepare or understand BOQs and technical specifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good attention to detail and technical documentation




- Willingness to travel regularly for site surveys and project activities
- Comfortable working on commercial and industrial rooftops

Preferred / Additional Skills
- Experience with C&I; and Residential rooftop solar projects
- Experience with PVsyst energy simulations and optimization
- Experience preparing detailed electrical drawings and SLDs
- Knowledge of AutoCAD / PVcase / Helioscope / SketchUp or similar tools
- Knowledge of Indian solar regulations, net metering and DISCOM requirements
- Experience with HT/LT electrical systems and transformer sizing
- Experience with solar EPC execution and contractor coordination
- Valid driving license
