Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead QA Engineer to own and drive the quality engineering strategy across web and backend applications. The ideal candidate should be highly hands-on with modern test automation frameworks, particularly Selenium and Playwright , while also having strong experience in test architecture, CI/CD, API testing, and leading QA teams.

You will be responsible for building scalable automation frameworks, improving test coverage, driving shift-left quality practices, and partnering closely with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the overall QA automation strategy, framework architecture, and test engineering roadmap .
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust automation frameworks using Selenium, Playwright , and other modern tools.
- Build and maintain scalable UI, API, integration, regression, smoke, and end-to-end automation suites .
- Drive migration or adoption of Playwright for modern web application testing where appropriate.
- Design reusable automation components, utilities, test data frameworks, and reporting mechanisms.
- Establish automation standards, coding guidelines, best practices, and review processes.
- Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality validation.
- Implement parallel, cross-browser, and distributed test execution.
- Collaborate with developers to identify defects early and promote shift-left testing .
- Define and track QA metrics including automation coverage, defect leakage, flaky tests, execution time, and release quality.
- Mentor and guide QA engineers and automation specialists.




- Participate in architecture and design discussions to ensure testability and quality are built into products.
- Drive root-cause analysis for critical production issues and implement preventive quality measures.
- Evaluate and introduce new testing tools and technologies.

Must-Have Technical Skills
- Selenium WebDriver – strong hands-on experience with framework development and automation.
- Playwright – strong practical experience in web application and end-to-end automation.
- Strong programming experience in Java / Python / JavaScript / TypeScript .
- Experience with TestNG / JUnit / PyTest / Playwright Test or equivalent test runners.
- Strong understanding of Page Object Model, Page Factory, data-driven testing, keyword-driven testing, and framework design .
- Strong experience in API testing using REST APIs, Postman, REST Assured or equivalent tools.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps.
- Good understanding of Git, branching strategies, build pipelines, and automated test execution .
- Experience with cross-browser testing and parallel execution.
- Strong understanding of SQL and database validation .
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.





Selenium WebDriver is designed for native browser automation and supports remote execution through Selenium Server/Grid, making distributed and parallel execution relevant for scalable automation frameworks. Playwright provides built-in capabilities such as auto-waiting, assertions, tracing, parallel execution, and testing across Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit, making it particularly relevant for modern end-to-end automation.
