Urban Management Centre is looking for a passionate and driven professional to join us as Software Program Manager –based in Ahmedabad. In this role, you will work closely with the Management team to help turn policy into meaningful impact. Key Responsibilities

 Lead end-to-end planning, execution and delivery of multiple software projects.

 Guide and mentor development teams and provide technical direction on architecture, implementation and engineering practices.

 Review technical solutions,



project estimates, dependencies, risks and delivery plans.

 Manage development, testing, staging and production environments across on- premise and cloud infrastructure.

 Oversee CI/CD, release management and deployment processes using GitHub, Jenkins and related automation.

 Coordinate application, database, infrastructure and DevOps teams for production deployments and issue resolution.

 Establish and monitor backup, Disaster Recovery, business continuity and restoration processes.

 Ensure appropriate technical documentation, coding/development standards, testing and production-readiness practices.

 Manage projects using a hybrid Agile + Waterfall delivery approach.

 Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and provide clear technical and management-level reporting.

 Identify technical, operational and delivery risks proactively and drive them to resolution.

Technology Workplace The candidate should have substantial practical understanding of the following:

Backend: PHP, Laravel, Python, Django Frontend: Django Templates, Laravel Blade Templates, React, Next.js, Angular Mobile: Flutter Databases: MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL Infrastructure: Ubuntu/Linux, Nginx, server architecture, Google Cloud DevOps: Git, GitHub, Jenkins, CI/CD, Bash/Shell scripting Data: ETL pipelines, data migration and system integration DR & Operations: Backup, Rsync, disaster recovery,



monitoring and production operations

Our existing systems predominantly use Laravel + MySQL, while newer platforms are built around Django, Next.js, PostgreSQL and Flutter.

Preferred Experience

 Experience managing multiple software products or technical programs.

 Strong hands-on software engineering background combined with program/project management experience.

 Experience managing hybrid on- premise + cloud environments.

 Experience with production systems, CI/CD and Disaster Recovery.

 Experience with Government / PSU / Municipal / Public Sector technology projects.

 Working knowledge of NIC infrastructure and government data systems will be an advantage.

Qualifications

 Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related field.

 10+ years of relevant experience in software engineering, technical project/program management or engineering leadership.

 Strong communication, problem-solving, planning and team-management skills.
