Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Software Engineering Manager role based in Chennai.

The Software Engineering

Manager will lead and mentor a team of software engineers, set technical direction, and ensure delivery of high-quality software solutions that support FTC Solar’s tracker and optimization platforms.

Responsibilities include overseeing the full software development lifecycle, driving software design and architecture decisions, and coordinating with product management, hardware engineering, and operations teams to align software capabilities with business needs. The role involves planning and tracking projects, managing priorities and resources,



implementing best practices for code quality and testing, and supporting distributed systems that integrate with solar tracking and performance management products.

Manager will also contribute to continuous improvement, foster a collaborative engineering culture, and help scale processes as the team grows.

Qualifications

- Solid skills in Software Development and experience building production-grade applications and services.
- Demonstrated Team Leadership capabilities, including mentoring engineers, performance management, and building high-performing teams.
- Expertise in Software Design, including architecture, design patterns, and scalable solution design.
- Proficiency in Project Management, including planning, estimation, risk management, and delivery within agreed timelines.
- Experience working with Distributed Systems and designing robust, reliable, and secure distributed architectures.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, or similar) and relevant frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, APIs, microservices, and integration with hardware or IoT systems is an advantage.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams.
- Experience in renewable energy, industrial software, or similar domains is a plus.
