How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview & Key Responsibilities) Role Description You will be a part of the Customer Communication, AI and Automation (CAIA) team, and will play a key role in Delta’s Cloud modernization, AI delivery and Customer Experiences.

This team develops and manages mission critical applications responsible for inbound customer communication and help them with their journey and provide better traveling experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in building scalable, secure, and highly available solutions using AWS services, modern development frameworks, and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

- As an AWS Engineer, you will design, develop, test, and deploy cloud-based applications on AWS.
- Build and maintain serverless and microservices-based architectures.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.
- Automate deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or AWS CodePipeline.

What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 2-4 years of experience into development.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles and AWS best practices.
- Hands on experience in developing and deploying scalable web applications and APIs.
- Exposure to Amazon MSK, DynamoDB, Java & AWS Services
- Knowledge of networking concepts, security, cloud governance & DevOps.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Kiro) to accomplish tasks such as generating and reviewing code, writing and maintaining tests, creating documentation, and debugging, with the judgment to validate and own AI-generated output.
- Understanding of prompt engineering, AI workflows, or model integration patterns.

- Prior exposure to Airline industry.
