Job Purpose To manage the carpet compounding process during the shift and ensure safe, smooth and consistent production of latex compound as per required quality and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor the carpet compounding process as per SOP and formulation.
- Ensure correct weighing and mixing of latex, chemicals, fillers and other raw materials.
- Monitor key process parameters such as viscosity, pH, temperature and density.
- Ensure the required quantity and quality of compound is supplied to the carpet coating section on time.
- Check batch quality and coordinate with the Quality team for testing and approval.
- Maintain production, batch and process records.
- Monitor raw material consumption and minimize material wastage.
- Handle shift manpower and ensure proper work allocation.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for machine breakdowns and equipment-related issues.
- Ensure proper cleaning,
housekeeping and 5S in the compounding area.
- Follow all safety procedures and ensure proper use of PPE.
- Identify process problems and take corrective action in coordination with seniors.
- Support productivity improvement, cost reduction and Kaizen activities.
- Prepare proper shift handover and communicate production and process issues to the next shift.
Qualification B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in:
- Chemical Engineering
- Polymer Technology
- Rubber Technology
- Plastic Technology
- Textile Technology
- Other relevant engineering disciplines
Experience 2 to 5 years of experience in compounding, latex, rubber, polymer, chemical processing or similar manufacturing operations.
Freshers with relevant technical qualifications may also be considered for suitable entry-level positions.
