Objective:
The Senior Services Software Engineer will be responsible for developing ETL processes and writing applications to interface with SQL databases. Daily tasks involve working with existing databases and performing data extraction, transformation, and load. A Services Software Engineer is responsible for identifying opportunities to optimize conversions and recommending development of best practices to the Professional Services organization.
A Services Software Engineer will primarily work with internal teams but may be required to communicate and/or travel to client sites as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be a champion for department initiatives and values ensuring all actions promote the departments mission statement
- Develop high-quality solutions utilizing best of breed technology solutions
- Develop, implement, and optimize stored procedures and functions using T-SQL
- Develop ETL scripts for data migration for customer projects using the appropriate technology based on the product’s platform / architecture.
- Develop Windows and Web Services for custom integrations with existing Symplr/External Applications
- Review and interpret ongoing business report requirements
- Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements
- Assist Customer Support/IT/DevOps teams in trouble shooting SQL performance issues
- Provide timely scheduled time management reporting
- Must be a self-starter always looking for opportunities to assist or improve
- Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications Required:
- BE/BTech degree in Computer Science, or equivalent real-world experience
- 5-7 years of progressive work experience in software development
- Strong coding and software design skills in Java and Spring Boot framework (minimum 4+ years)
- Deep expertise in either Oracle 19C OR SQL Server including stored procedures, query optimization, and performance tuning (minimum 3+ years)
- Proven experience with JavaScript and at least one modern framework (React.js preferred, jQuery acceptable)
- Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and building web applications
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and web services architecture
- Strong experience with Git, BitBucket, or CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of microservices architecture and design patterns
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Qualifications Strongly Preferred:
- Demonstrated experience with Dell Boomi (AtomSphere) or similar iPaaS platforms (MuleSoft, Workato, Informatica) for building integrations
- Experience with both Oracle AND SQL Server environments
- Knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Integration Services (SSIS)
- Experience with Hibernate ORM framework
- Experience with React.js, TypeScript, and CSS3 with Material UI
- Working knowledge of Groovy for debugging and code modifications
- Experience with AWS services: ECS, Lambda, Secrets Manager, CodeDeploy
- Understanding of AWS compute options (ECS vs EC2) and infrastructure management
- Familiarity with C# and ASP.NET development
- Proficient in Linux command line and basic shell scripting
- Experience with markup languages, templating systems, and DBML pages
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps or similar DevOps platforms
- Experience enabling and troubleshooting API client connections
