Role Overview The Field Service Engineer is responsible for installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of machines at customer premises. The role also involves providing technical support, ensuring customer satisfaction, training operators, and maintaining service documentation. The candidate should be technically competent, customer-focused, and willing to travel frequently.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, and commission machines at customer sites.
- Diagnose technical issues and perform timely repairs or replacements.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance visits.
- Provide technical training to customer operators and maintenance teams.
- Maintain detailed service reports and documentation.
- Coordinate with the technical team and spare parts division for support.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards during service execution.
- Support warranty and post-warranty service requirements.
- Provide feedback to R&D; / Product team based on field performance.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, electrical diagrams, and manuals.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical/electrical systems.
- Basic PLC/Controller knowledge (preferred).
- Good communication and customer-handling skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
Qualification & Experience
- ITI/Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics / Electronics Engineering.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in industrial machinery servicing (Freshers with valuable aptitude may also be considered).
- Experience in CNC / Automation / Capital Machinery industry is an advantage.
Additional Requirements
- Ready to travel across India and overseas when required.
- Valid driving license is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office and service reporting tools.
