About the Role
Applix is looking for an experienced Senior Windows Administrator to join our team full-time and work on-site at a client location in Bangalore.
This is a hands-on enterprise infrastructure role focused on Windows Server Administration, Microsoft SCCM/MECM, SCOM, OS imaging, patch management, vulnerability remediation, automation, and cloud-hosted Windows environments .
You will support business-critical infrastructure across on-premises, Azure, and hybrid environments , working closely with infrastructure, cloud, network, application, and security teams to ensure high availability, security, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Windows Server Administration
- Administer and support enterprise Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 environments.
- Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Windows servers.
- Provide advanced L2/L3 support for Windows operating systems and enterprise infrastructure.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to CPU, memory, storage, networking, services, registry, and operating system performance.
- Manage Windows services, local security policies, and system configurations.
Microsoft SCCM / MECM Administration
- Administer and maintain Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) infrastructure.
- Build and maintain operating system images and task sequences.
- Package, deploy, and manage enterprise applications.
- Deploy Windows updates and manage enterprise patch compliance.
- Troubleshoot SCCM client health, content distribution, software deployments, and update failures.
- Monitor SCCM infrastructure health and optimize deployment processes.
Microsoft SCOM Administration
- Configure, administer, and support Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM).
- Implement proactive monitoring for Windows servers and enterprise infrastructure.
- Configure monitoring rules, alerts, thresholds, and dashboards.
- Perform root cause analysis using monitoring tools, Event Viewer, and diagnostic logs.
- Ensure system availability through continuous infrastructure monitoring.
Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure
- Manage Windows virtual machines hosted on Microsoft Azure.
- Provision, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Azure IaaS workloads.
- Support hybrid infrastructure and cloud migration initiatives.
- Troubleshoot compute, storage, networking, and connectivity issues across cloud environments.
- Collaborate with cloud teams to maintain highly available infrastructure.
Security & Vulnerability Management
- Identify and remediate Windows infrastructure vulnerabilities.
- Manage Windows security patching and compliance activities.
- Implement security hardening based on enterprise standards.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to address audit findings and security risks.
- Support endpoint security and vulnerability management initiatives.
PowerShell & Automation
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for infrastructure automation.
- Automate server administration, patching, software deployment, and operational tasks.
- Standardize deployment and infrastructure management processes.
- Improve operational efficiency through scripting and automation.
Enterprise Operations
- Participate in Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Network, Cloud, Security, and Application teams.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance, patch windows, and on-call support activities.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- 8–12+ years of experience in Windows Server Administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022.
- Extensive experience administering Microsoft SCCM / MECM.

- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows Server, networking, storage, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of ITIL processes including Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
- Experience with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune and Up-to-date Endpoint Management.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise vulnerability management platforms.
