JRD Systems
Bengaluru
Senior Web & AI Engineer
Location: India
Team: Marketing + Engineering
Working model: Async-first, with one fixed synchronous block each week
Experience: 8+ years The Role
We’re rebuilding the JRD Systems website from the ground up, and we’re looking for someone who wants to own the entire web experience—not just build it and hand it off.
This is a build-and-run role . You’ll have a real say in the technology stack, architecture, implementation, performance, and long-term operation of the site. You’ll work directly with our Marketing Manager and designer, with our internal engineering team available for architecture and review.
The role sits at the intersection of web engineering, interactive design, marketing technology, analytics, SEO, and AI automation .
If you like taking an ambiguous brief, making smart technical decisions, shipping the work, and then staying accountable for how it performs in production, you’ll fit well here.
What You’ll Own
Website rebuild, architecture & ongoing operations
- Rebuild the JRD Systems website end to end, including information architecture, implementation, performance, accessibility, and responsive behavior.
- Help determine the right technology stack and make pragmatic architectural decisions.
- Build production-quality front-end experiences that work across devices and browsers.
- Own the site after launch: releases, updates, uptime, security patching, backups, maintenance, and ongoing improvements.
- Treat performance and reliability as ongoing responsibilities, not launch-day tasks.
WordPress & CMS engineering
- Build and maintain custom WordPress implementations, including custom themes, ACF, and block development.
- Know when WordPress is the right tool—and when it isn’t.
- Create content systems that give the marketing team flexibility without compromising engineering quality.
HubSpot & marketing infrastructure
- Wire HubSpot into the website end to end.
- Build and maintain forms, tracking, lifecycle workflows, and source attribution.
- Ensure marketing and sales teams can see where pipeline comes from without relying on spreadsheets or manual reconciliation.
- Connect website behavior and CRM data into a reliable measurement system.
Front-end motion & interactivity Our design direction is moving beyond static 2D experiences toward motion graphics, interactive elements, and richer web experiences .
You’ll be expected to build those experiences—not approximate them with basic CSS animations.
You may work with technologies such as:
- GSAP
- Framer Motion
- Three.js
- WebGL
- Spline
- Other modern browser-based animation and graphics technologies
AI & automation AI is a meaningful part of this role.
You’ll build and maintain practical AI-powered systems inside our marketing stack, including:
- LLM API integrations
- Content operations pipelines
- Automated production workflows
- Prompt engineering for real-world applications
- Agentic or multi-step automation where appropriate
- Systems that remove repetitive manual work from content and marketing operations
Using ChatGPT to write code is not what we mean by AI experience. We’re looking for someone who has actually integrated AI APIs into production workflows and understands what happens when those systems meet real users, messy inputs, unreliable outputs, and changing requirements. Analytics & technical SEO
Own the technical foundation that allows us to understand and improve the website.
This includes
- GA4
- Google Search Console
- Tag management
- Event tracking and instrumentation
- Conversion tracking
- Core Web Vitals
- Structured data
- Crawlability and indexing
- Technical SEO
- Site performance
The goal is simple: marketing should be able to trust the data, and search engines should be able to trust the site.
What We’re Looking For
Required
4+ years of qualified experience building and shipping production web applications, with live work you can show us.
Strong front-end fundamentals. You’re comfortable with modern JavaScript, React or an equivalent framework, and CSS at a craft level—not just whatever defaults a framework provides.
Deep WordPress experience. You’ve worked with custom themes, ACF, and block development in production, and you understand the tradeoffs of the platform.
Production experience with LLM and AI APIs. You have integrated AI into real products or workflows and understand API integration, prompt engineering, automation, and the operational realities of AI-powered systems.
Strong ownership and judgment. You can take direction from leadership, ask the right questions, make decisions, scope work, ship independently, and flag risks before they become problems.
Strong written English. Most of our collaboration is asynchronous and written,
so you need to communicate clearly with a US-based team without relying on meetings to create context.
Valued, but not required
Experience with
- Headless CMS architectures
- Next.js
- Sanity
- Contentful or similar CMS platforms
- GSAP, Framer Motion, Three.js, WebGL, or Spline
- HubSpot development, including HubL and custom modules
- Marketing automation
- CRM integrations
- Data pipelines and attribution systems
- AI agents and multi-step LLM workflows
You don’t need every item on this list. Depth in the areas that matter most is more valuable than checking every box.
How We Work
We’re async-first .
Our team spans the US Pacific time zone and India. We have one fixed synchronous block each week; everything else is handled through written communication.
You’ll work directly with
- Marketing Manager — priorities, campaigns, business requirements
- Designer — visual direction and design system
- Internal Engineering Team — architecture, technical review, and support
We’re a small team with a short path to decisions. You won’t need to wait through three layers of approval to change a template, fix a problem, or improve an experience.
We expect ownership, judgment, and a bias toward shipping.
Understand & Start Building
- Set up your development environment.
- Audit the current website and its technical foundation.
- Identify key performance, SEO, analytics, and infrastructure issues.
- Make and document the stack/architecture decision.
- Begin building the anchor pages.
Build & Integrate
- Build the site against the design system.
- Implement responsive behavior and interactive experiences.
- Integrate HubSpot forms and tracking.
- Establish attribution and conversion instrumentation.
- Put the staging site in front of the team for review.
Launch & Automate
- Launch the new website.
- Establish performance and technical SEO baselines.
- Verify analytics and attribution end to end.
- Establish the ongoing release, maintenance, security, and backup process.
- Ship the first AI-assisted content operations pipeline.
How to Apply
Please send
1. A portfolio or GitHub with at least two production websites you personally built .
2. One paragraph about the most interesting thing you’ve shipped using an LLM or AI API.
For the AI example, tell us:
- What you built
- What the system actually did
- What went wrong or broke
- What you learned
- What you changed to make it work reliably
We care more about that paragraph than your CV. We’re looking for someone who can build ambitious web experiences, make sound technical decisions, and own what happens after the code ships.
