Key Roles &

- Responsibilities

1. Store &
- Warehouse Management

- Lead and manage the overall operations of central stores, raw material stores, consumable stores, finished goods stores, and scrap yards.

- Ensure systematic receipt, storage, preservation, and issuance of materials.

- Develop and implement efficient warehouse layouts and storage systems.

- Ensure proper material identification, tagging, coding, and traceability.

- Optimize utilization of available storage space.

1. Inventory Management &
- Control

- Maintain optimum inventory levels to support uninterrupted production.

- Monitor stock levels, slow-moving stock, non-moving stock, excess inventory, and obsolete materials.

- Establish and monitor minimum, maximum, reorder, and safety stock levels.

- Ensure regular physical stock verification and reconciliation with ERP/system records.

- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies and inventory variances.

- Drive inventory reduction and working-capital optimization initiatives.

1. Material Receipt &
- Issue

- Ensure proper verification of incoming materials against Purchase Orders, invoices, challans, and quality requirements.

- Supervise the preparation and approval of GRNs and other receipt documentation.

- Ensure materials are issued to production only against authorized requisitions.

- Monitor returnable materials and unused material returns from production.

- Ensure proper handling of rejected, damaged, and surplus materials.

1. ERP &
- Documentation

- Ensure accurate and timely inventory transactions in ERP/SAP or other inventory management systems.

- Monitor GRN, material issue, material transfer, stock adjustment, and return transactions.

- Maintain proper documentation and records for all store activities.

- Ensure real-time stock visibility and data accuracy.

- Develop MIS reports for management review.

1. Team Management

- Lead, guide, and supervise Store Executives,



Store Officers, Supervisors, and store support staff.

- Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.

- Provide training on inventory procedures, ERP processes, documentation, and safety practices.

- Establish accountability and discipline within the stores department.

- Participate in manpower planning and team development.

1. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with Purchase for material planning and inward schedules.

- Work closely with Production to ensure timely availability of materials.

- Coordinate with Quality for incoming material inspection and rejection handling.

- Coordinate with Finance for inventory valuation, documentation, and audit requirements.

- Liaise with Logistics for transportation, dispatch, and material movement.

1. Audit &
- Compliance

- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and inventory control procedures.

- Prepare the department for internal, external, statutory, and customer audits.

- Ensure proper documentation and record retention.

- Implement corrective actions for audit observations.

- Establish and continuously improve Store SOPs and control systems.

1. Scrap &
- Surplus Management

- Monitor generation, segregation, storage, and accounting of scrap materials.

- Ensure proper authorization and documentation for scrap disposal.

- Maintain accurate records of scrap generation and disposal.

- Identify opportunities for recovery and reduction of material wastage.

1. Safety &
- Housekeeping





- Ensure compliance with all safety requirements within the stores and warehouse.

- Ensure safe stacking, handling, loading, and unloading of materials.

- Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S standards.

- Ensure availability and usage of required PPE by store personnel.

- Identify and mitigate material handling and storage risks.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Inventory accuracy

- Stock variance percentage

- Reduction in slow-moving and non-moving inventory

- Material availability to production

- Inventory carrying cost

- Stock turnover ratio

- Timely GRN and material issue processing

- Audit compliance

- Reduction in material losses and damages

- ERP transaction accuracy

- Team productivity

- Implementation of 5S and safety standards

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, or a related discipline.

- MBA/PG Diploma in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 1015+ years of experience in Stores, Warehouse, Inventory, or Materials Management.

- Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial or senior leadership role.

- Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, steel, electrical, cable, transmission, or infrastructure industry will be preferred.

Required Skills

- Solid knowledge of inventory and warehouse management.

- Experience with ERP/SAP and inventory management systems.

- Knowledge of GRN, material reconciliation, stock audits, and inventory valuation.

- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

- Excellent planning and organizational skills.

- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MIS reporting.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Knowledge of 5S, safety, and quality systems.

- Effective cross-functional coordination and communication skills.
