Company Description St. John’s Research Institute (SJRI) is a dedicated research unit of the St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, operated by the CBCI Society for Medical Education.

SJRI was established in 2000 to advance high-quality research and has grown into a Center for Excellence in medical research in India. Role Description The Senior Resident Clinical Haematology position is a full time, hybrid role based in Bengaluru, with some flexibility for work-from-home activities related to documentation, academic work, and remote meetings. The role involves providing comprehensive clinical care to patients with hematological disorders, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management under institutional protocols.

Daily responsibilities include supervising and conducting ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and procedures, interpreting laboratory and diagnostic results, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.

The Senior

Resident is expected to participate in clinical research, contribute to academic activities such as teaching and case discussions, maintain accurate medical records, and adhere to institutional standards for patient safety and ethical practice.



The role also includes engaging in quality improvement initiatives and supporting the development of evidence-based haematology services within the Institute.

Qualifications

- Postgraduate medical qualification in Internal Medicine or Pediatrics (e.g., MD or equivalent) with specialized training or exposure in Clinical Haematology; eligibility for relevant medical registration in India.
- Demonstrated clinical competence in diagnosing and managing hematological conditions, including anemia, bleeding disorders, hematologic malignancies, and bone marrow failure syndromes.
- Experience interpreting hematology laboratory investigations (CBC, peripheral smear, coagulation profiles, bone marrow examination, immunophenotyping) and integrating results into clinical decision-making.
- Ability to participate in and support clinical research, including patient recruitment, data collection, adherence to protocols, and contribution to publications or presentations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with patients, families, colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams, including skills in counseling and shared decision-making.
- Commitment to ethical clinical practice, patient safety, and confidentiality, with attention to detail in documentation and adherence to institutional guidelines.
- Capacity to work in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site clinical duties in Bengaluru with remote academic and administrative tasks, and managing time and workload efficiently.
- Interest in teaching and mentoring junior residents, students, and trainees, and contributing to academic programs, seminars, and case discussions in haematology.
