Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer with 5+ years of software testing experience to work on a large-scale banking Client Onboarding and KYC platform.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Playwright automation, preferably using Java, along with a valuable understanding of banking workflows, particularly Client Onboarding, KYC, AML, and Financial Crime Compliance.

The candidate will be responsible for functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, and automation testing across complex workflows involving multiple upstream and downstream systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites using Playwright.
- Develop and enhance automation frameworks, preferably using Java + Playwright.
- Automate complex end-to-end Client Onboarding and KYC workflows.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
- Understand business requirements and translate them into comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
- Validate workflows involving multiple interconnected applications and backend systems.
- Perform API testing and backend/data validation where required.
- Validate data movement across upstream and downstream systems.
- Perform database validation using SQL.
- Investigate automation failures and distinguish application defects from framework/environment issues.
- Execute automated regression suites through CI/CD pipelines.
- Analyze pipeline failures, logs, screenshots, traces, and other test artifacts.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other QA engineers.
- Participate in defect triage and root-cause analysis.
- Maintain high-quality automation code using appropriate coding and framework design practices.




- Contribute to improving test coverage, execution time, stability, and parallel execution of automation suites.

Mandatory Technical Skills
- 5+ years of overall QA/testing experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright.
- Strong programming experience, preferably Java.
- Hands-on experience building or maintaining UI automation frameworks.

- Locators and selectors

- Assertions

- Wait strategies

- Browser contexts

- Parallel execution

- Test data management
- Screenshots, tracing, and debugging
- Experience with TestNG/JUnit or similar test frameworks.
- Good knowledge of REST API testing.
- Experience with tools such as Postman and/or REST Assured.
- Good SQL knowledge and experience performing database validations.
- Experience with Git and source-control workflows.
- Experience executing automated tests through CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI/CD.
- Ability to troubleshoot flaky tests, synchronization issues, browser/session problems, and parallel execution failures.

Mandatory Banking/KYC Domain Knowledge The candidate must have practical experience working on Banking or Financial Services applications, preferably Client Onboarding/KYC platforms. The candidate should understand how KYC information flows between different systems and how approval, validation, exception, and compliance workflows operate within a large financial institution.

Candidate Expectations

We are specifically looking for someone who is hands-on, rather than someone whose recent experience has primarily been coordination or test management.

The candidate should be comfortable:

- Writing Playwright automation code independently.
- Debugging an existing automation framework.
- Understanding complex business workflows.
- Writing SQL queries for validation.
- Testing APIs independently.
- Investigating CI/CD failures.
- Discussing KYC scenarios with business stakeholders.
- Identifying edge cases rather than relying solely on documented test cases.
