Job Title: Senior Manager MEP (Data Center Projects)
Site Location: Ahmedabad (Project Site)
Base / Office Location: GIFT City, Gandhinagar

Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Manager MEP to lead design validation, engineering integration, and execution of MEP systems for hyperscale data center projects. This role requires strong ownership across the full lifecycle—from Basis of Design (BoD) through IFC, construction, commissioning, and handover—ensuring delivery of fault-tolerant, Tier III/IV compliant, and energy-efficient infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end MEP delivery (Electrical, Mechanical, ELV, ICT, Fire & Life Safety) aligned to design intent, cost, quality, and timelines
- Perform technical validation of BoD, DBRs, and multidisciplinary design packages across all stages (30% / 60% / 90% / IFC)
- Review and validate IFC/GFC drawings for constructability, coordination, and redundancy compliance
System Engineering & Validation
- Ensure robustness of:
- Electrical systems (EHV/HT/LT, GIS substations, transformers, UPS, DG, 2N/N+1 redundancy)
- Mechanical systems (CRAH/CRAC, chilled water systems, hybrid/liquid cooling, heat rejection)
- ELV/ICT systems (DCIM, BMS/IBMS, structured cabling, security systems)
- Fire & Life Safety systems (VESDA, gas suppression, fire zoning)
- Ensure compliance with TIA-942, NFPA, ASHRAE/ISHRAE, IEC, NBC, LEED/IGBC standards
Pre-Construction & Engineering Integration
- Lead Stage 1 & 2 activities including:
- System architecture finalization and design freeze
- Load calculations, redundancy philosophy, and capacity planning
- CFD validation and energy modelling (PUE/WUE optimization)
- Define system configurations, equipment sizing, and interface requirements for Long Lead Equipment (LLE)
- Support preparation of technical specifications, BOQs,
tender strategy, and RFP documentation
Execution & Site Delivery
- Lead in office execution ensuring installation as per IFC/GFC drawings and technical specifications
- Establish execution sequencing, workfront planning, and site readiness
- Drive progress tracking, MIS reporting, and milestone adherence
Coordination & BIM Integration
- Lead BIM coordination (LOD 300–400) ensuring 95% clash-free design before execution
- Resolve interface issues between high-side (LLE) and low-side distribution systems
- Conduct coordination workshops with consultants, OEMs, contractors, and internal stakeholders
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Establish QA/QC systems, SOPs, method statements, and inspection plans
- Conduct technical audits, inspections, and testing validations
- Drive EHS implementation including HIRA, safety compliance, and regulatory adherence
Commercial & Vendor Management
- Manage contractors, vendors, OEMs, and PMC teams
- Monitor MEP budgets, cost variations, and procurement alignment
- Support techno-commercial evaluations, vendor selection, and lifecycle cost analysis
- Ensure alignment with project cash flow and cost target
Risk Management & Value Engineering
- Identify and mitigate design and execution risks (redundancy failures, integration gaps)
- Drive value engineering initiatives focused on:
- Energy efficiency (PUE optimization)
- Water efficiency (WUE optimization)
- System reliability and maintainability
Commissioning & Handover
- Lead commissioning activities including:
- Level 1–5 commissioning
- Integrated Systems Testing (IST)
- Performance validation of electrical and cooling systems
- Witness FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) for DGs, UPS, chillers, and other critical equipment
- Ensure readiness for handover including as-built validation, O&M; documentation, and DLP support
Key Deliverables
- Validated BoD, DBRs, IFC/GFC packages for all MEP systems
- Electrical SLDs, mechanical schematics, and coordinated layouts
- Load calculations, redundancy validation reports, CFD and energy modelling outputs
- Integrated MEP execution schedules (Primavera/MSP)
- Technical specifications, BOQs, and tender documentation
- Contractor performance reports, MIS dashboards, and quality audit reports
- Clash-free BIM models (LOD 300–400) with 95% coordination compliance
- QA/QC documentation, SOPs, and safety compliance systems
- Commissioning reports, IST documentation, and performance validation outputs
- As-built drawings, O&M; manuals, and final handover packages
Required Skills & Expertise
- Strong experience in data center / mission-critical / large infrastructure projects
- Deep understanding of Tier III/IV standards and redundancy architectures (2N, N+1)
- Expertise in
- Electrical infrastructure (Substations, UPS, DG, HT/LT systems)
- Cooling systems (CRAH/CRAC, chilled water, hybrid/liquid cooling)
- ELV/ICT systems (DCIM, BMS/IBMS)
- Fire & Life Safety systems (VESDA, gas suppression)
- Proven experience in design validation (BoD IFC execution)
- Strong BIM coordination exposure (Revit, Navisworks)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Primavera/MSP
- Strong techno-commercial, vendor/OEM, and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)
- PMP / LEED / IGBC / Commissioning certifications (Preferred)
