Senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant

Profile Summary

We are looking for a Senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant based in India to work remotely with a US client during US business hours .

The candidate must have a minimum of 10–12 years of overall ERP / Microsoft Dynamics functional consulting experience , with strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O; / Finance) .

The consultant should be capable of independently leading finance workstreams, conducting client workshops, gathering and analyzing requirements, configuring D365 Finance, preparing functional designs, supporting integrations and data migration, conducting testing, and managing deployment and post-go-live support.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the D365 Finance functional workstream for US-based implementation, enhancement and support projects.
- Conduct requirement-gathering and business-process workshops with finance stakeholders.
- Perform Fit-Gap analysis and recommend solutions using standard D365 functionality.
- Configure and support:
- General Ledger
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Cash and Bank Management
- Fixed Assets
- Budgeting
- Credit and Collections
- Expense Management
- Financial Dimensions
- Sales Tax / Indirect Tax
- Intercompany Accounting
- Consolidation
- Period-End and Year-End Closing
- Configure legal entities, charts of accounts,



account structures, financial dimensions, posting profiles and journals.
- Work directly with CFOs, Controllers, Finance Managers and business users.
- Prepare Functional Design Documents (FDDs), Fit-Gap documents, process flows and configuration documents .
- Coordinate with D365 technical consultants and developers for customizations and integrations.
- Support financial data migration, reconciliation and validation.
- Develop and execute SIT, UAT and regression-testing scenarios.
- Support cutover, go-live and production stabilization.
- Troubleshoot complex accounting, posting and financial-process issues.
- Mentor junior and mid-level functional consultants.
- Participate in client meetings and workshops during US working hours .

Mandatory Experience
- Minimum 10–12 years of overall ERP / Microsoft Dynamics functional consulting experience.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance / D365 F&O; .
- Preferably 6+ years of hands-on D365 Finance experience .
- At least 3 end-to-end Dynamics AX / D365 Finance implementations .
- Robust expertise in:
- General Ledger
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Cash & Bank Management
- Fixed Assets
- Financial Dimensions
- Financial Period Close




- Strong finance and accounting process knowledge.
- Experience with multi-company, multi-currency and intercompany environments.
- Experience preparing functional specifications for integrations and extensions.
- Strong experience with data migration, UAT, cutover and post-go-live support.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability to independently manage discussions with US-based business stakeholders.

Preferred Experience
- Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 and D365 Finance experience.
- MB-310 / Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance certification preferred.
- Power BI, Power Platform, Dataverse or Power Automate exposure.
- Experience with Data Management Framework and Electronic Reporting.
- Experience working directly with US clients.
- Understanding of US financial processes, banking, sales tax and 1099 requirements.
- Manufacturing, distribution, retail, food & beverage or professional-services industry experience is an advantage.

- The candidate should be a genuinely senior functional consultant capable of independently owning the D365 Finance workstream , rather than primarily a production-support resource.
