JOB POSITION : SENIOR FASHION DESIGNER

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time, Studio-Based

EXPERIENCE: 4 to 10+ Years

ROLE OVERVIEW The Senior Fashion Designer at TMP The Man Project owns the creative and commercial direction of premium menswear collections end-to-end. This role goes beyond execution it requires setting the brand's seasonal design vision, leading a design team, managing key client and vendor relationships directly, and being accountable for collections from concept through delivered product. The Senior Designer reports into leadership and acts as the primary design authority on the floor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Design Direction & Strategy

- Set and own the seasonal design vision and collection strategy, aligned with brand identity and market positioning.
- Lead concept development, mood boards, and colour palette direction signing off on all design boards before they go to sampling.
- Track fashion trends, fabric innovation, and global menswear markets, translating them into commercially viable collection direction.
- Take final creative ownership of bespoke and made-to-measure projects for key/VIP clients.

B. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Handle high-value and repeat clients directly take briefs, advise on design choices, and manage expectations through delivery.
- Act as the design point of contact for corporate gifting and custom project clients.
- Present collection direction and rationale to management/leadership for sign-off.

C. Fabric & Vendor Management
- Own supplier and mill relationships; negotiate pricing, quality terms, and delivery timelines directly.
- Approve final fabric, trim, and embellishment selections against cost and quality benchmarks.
- Build and maintain the fabric/trim library as a strategic sourcing asset, not just a reference file.

D. Team Leadership & Sampling Oversight
- Lead and mentor junior/mid-level designers review their sketches, tech packs, and sample work before it moves forward.
- Own the sampling calendar across the full team,



not just personal styles flag and resolve bottlenecks.
- Conduct final fit reviews and hold sign-off authority on sample approval for production.

E. Production Accountability
- Hold final accountability for design intent being preserved through bulk manufacturing.
- Lead resolution of design-related production issues, including cost or timeline trade-offs.
- Maintain the design archive and production spec records as an audit-ready system, not ad hoc files.

F. Brand & Marketing Direction
- Direct (not just support) lookbook shoots, campaign concepts, and Instagram content direction.
- Own visual merchandising direction for retail and online.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

- Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design (NIFT, Pearl Academy, or equivalent).
- 4 to 10 years in menswear design, with at least 3 years owning full collections end-to-end (not just contributing to them).
- Proven experience managing or mentoring a design team.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW; CLO3D a solid plus.
- Direct experience negotiating with fabric mills/vendors, not just sourcing under someone else's terms.
- Strong command of Indian ethnic, bandhgala, sherwani, and western fusion menswear.
- Demonstrated ability to make cost/quality/timeline trade-off calls independently.

WORKING CONDITIONS

- Full-time, studio-based, with regular floor presence during sampling and production.
- Extended hours during launches, shoots, and exhibitions.
- Frequent travel for sourcing, trade fairs, and vendor visits more than the junior role, since vendor relationships are now owned, not assisted.
