Reporting to :Manager - Design & Development
Educational Qualification :Graduate in Engineering / Diploma
Experience: 1) 5 - 7 years in design and development of engineering / industrial product / parts / components
1. Should possess proficiency in using drafting / CAD, other design and analysis tools including Solid works / Pro E / CATIA
2. Should possess basic knowledge of product design and development engineering
3. Should possess experience in auto component / ancillary industry and have understanding of the APQP processes
: The Unit Product Development Engineer is responsible for coordinating design and development of current parts / improvements in existing parts, as per unit and customer line requirements. This includes collation of RFQs from marketing, coordinating feasibility studies for design, simulation, testing,
development and productionisation of new parts. The role holder is responsible for documentation / control activities, as per Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process / guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare plan and schedule for product design and development activities in the unit / plant, including feasibility studies for new projects
2. Responsible for designing and developing parts / components as per project plan and APQP process / guidelines for identified projects
3. Coordinate for testing, validation, parts development, proto manufacturing and productionisation activities, as per product development timelines
4. Support process engineering / process improvement initiatives in the unit, as applicable
