Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer to lead and execute mechanical design activities for SPMs (Special Purpose Machines), fixtures, tooling, and industrial equipment.

The candidate will be responsible for developing accurate 2D and 3D designs, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, design calculations, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation using Creo and AutoCAD. The role also involves coordinating with production, fabrication, quality, purchase, project, and assembly teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, reliable, and cost-effective.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and execute 2D and 3D mechanical design using Creo and AutoCAD.
- Design and develop SPMs, fixtures, tooling, and industrial equipment as per project requirements.
- Prepare detailed fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing drawings.
- Perform design calculations, engineering analysis, and technical validation.
- Convert concepts and project requirements into practical and manufacturable designs.
- Prepare and review BOMs, part specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Select suitable materials, bearings, fasteners, drives, and other mechanical components.
- Ensure designs meet functional, quality, safety, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
- Review drawings prepared by junior design engineers and provide technical guidance.




- Coordinate with production, fabrication, assembly, quality, and project teams for design feasibility and execution.
- Support machine assembly, trials, commissioning, troubleshooting, and design improvements.
- Analyze shop-floor and site feedback and implement required design modifications.
- Ensure proper tolerances, GD&T;, fitment, and functional requirements are incorporated into designs.
- Maintain design documentation, revision control, and engineering records.
- Support standardization, continuous improvement, and cost-reduction initiatives.

Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Creo for 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailing.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drafting and detailing.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and engineering calculations.
- Good knowledge of fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly processes.
- Strong understanding of SPM and industrial equipment design.
- Good knowledge of materials, fits, tolerances, GD&T;, and engineering standards.
- Ability to select and integrate standard mechanical components.
- Knowledge of DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly).
- Strong problem-solving and technical decision-making skills.




- Ability to interpret and review manufacturing and assembly drawings.
- Positive communication, coordination, and team-handling skills.
- Basic knowledge of ERP and engineering documentation systems will be an added advantage.

Experience Required
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in mechanical design.
- Experience in SPM / Special Purpose Machine or industrial equipment design.
- Experience in fabrication and assembly drawing preparation.
- Experience in machine design and development.
- Manufacturing / industrial experience is mandatory.
- Experience handling projects independently from concept to fabrication, assembly, and trials will be preferred.
- Experience in reviewing drawings and guiding junior design engineers will be an added advantage.

Education BE / B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering
