Role Description The Senior Design Engineer – Fire Fighting Systems is a full time, on-site role based in Mumbai. This role is responsible for designing fire protection and detection systems, including hydrant, sprinkler, foam, gas suppression, and alarm systems in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements. Day-to-day tasks include preparing system layouts, sizing and selecting equipment, developing technical drawings and BOQs, coordinating with project, procurement, and installation teams,



and reviewing engineering documentation for accuracy and compliance.

The engineer will conduct site visits for design validation, support commissioning activities, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and drafters. The role also involves interacting with clients and consultants, preparing design reports, and ensuring all solutions meet safety, quality, and performance expectations.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Systems Design and System Architecture skills for complex fire protection solutions.
- Candidates should possess Systems Engineering expertise to integrate detection, suppression, and control components into cohesive systems.
- Candidates should possess Mechanical Engineering skills relevant to piping design, pump selection, hydraulics, and equipment layout.
- Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering skills for power distribution, control panels, fire alarm interfaces, and system wiring.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Fire, or equivalent Engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
- Demonstrated experience (preferably several years) in designing industrial and commercial fire fighting systems in line with national and international standards (e.g., NBC, NFPA, IS codes).
- Proficiency in CAD tools and relevant design software; familiarity with hydraulic calculation tools is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, quality assurance practices, and risk assessment in high-hazard environments.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications
