About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst – Tariff Data with strong hands-on expertise in Advanced Excel, SQL, and Python automation.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong attention to detail, and the ability to understand complex business rules and convert them into accurate data models.

The role involves working with utility tariffs, rates, energy utilization data, and pricing structures, while collaborating with India- and US-based delivery and cross-functional teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Understand complex utility tariffs, rates, and programs and convert business rules into structured models.
- Analyze energy utilization data to identify cost, consumption, and usage patterns.
- Maintain and enhance tariff models with timely updates to pricing, business logic, and client requirements.
- Validate input data received from clients before it is used for modelling.
- Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure accurate and timely project execution.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues in modelling tools.
- Create reports, demonstrations, and visualizations to communicate analytical insights.
- Automate routine and repetitive tasks using Python, Excel Macros/VBA, or scripting.
- Investigate data discrepancies and provide accurate, logical solutions.
- Communicate problems, analysis, and solutions effectively with India- and US-based stakeholders.
- Continuously develop technical, analytical, and domain knowledge.

Ideal Candidate Mandatory Requirements

- 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Analyst.
- Strong expertise in Advanced Excel, including complex formulas, functions, Pivot Tables, calculations, and Macros/VBA.
- Strong hands-on SQL experience with a good understanding of relational database concepts.
- Practical experience using Python for automation.
- Strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to understand complex data and business logic and convert it into a structured model.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with India- and US-based teams.
- Willingness to attend the final interview in person in Pune.
- Candidates should be based in Pune or nearby Maharashtra locations and be comfortable with the hybrid working model.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in the Energy / Utilities industry.
- Knowledge of electrical or gas utility tariffs.
- Experience with Excel Macros/VBA.
- Python or Shell scripting experience.
- 1+ year of Agile methodology experience.
- Experience with data modelling, pricing, tariff, or similar business-rule-driven systems.
