Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to support the design, build, management, integration, and operation of infrastructure solutions and services. The role involves working across cloud technologies, infrastructure support, scripting, security, systems integration, testing, troubleshooting, and solution design while ensuring alignment with business objectives and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Coding and Scripting

- Develop proficiency in scripting tools and software essential for the design, build, management, and operation of infrastructure solutions and services.
- Use scripting to automate common infrastructure management and operational tasks.

Infrastructure Fundamentals

- Build, configure, administer, and support infrastructure technologies and solutions.
- Work with technologies and solutions including:

- Computing

- Storage

- Networking

- Physical infrastructure
- Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions
- Open-source packages and solutions
- Support virtual and cloud computing technologies including:
- Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
- Platform as a Service (PaaS)
- Software as a Service (SaaS)

Information Security

- Identify information security risks within solutions and services.
- Apply controls to mitigate threats and support secure infrastructure environments.

Modern Standards Approach





- Build proficiency in modern standards approaches and understand how these standards apply to work undertaken.
- Apply standards and principles under guidance.

Ownership and Initiative

- Take ownership of issues until a current owner is identified or the problem is mitigated or resolved.

Problem Management

- Investigate problems across systems, processes, and services.
- Understand different levels of problems including strategic, tactical, and operational.
- Contribute to the implementation of remedies and preventative measures.

Service Focus

- Take inputs from stakeholders and establish solutions that support business objectives.

Systems Design

- Translate logical designs into physical designs.
- Produce detailed system designs and documentation using required standards, methods, and tools.
- Design systems with manageable business and technical complexity and managed levels of risk.
- Work with well-understood technologies and identify patterns where applicable.

Systems Integration

- Build and test interfaces between systems.
- Support more complex integrations as part of a wider team.

Technical Understanding

- Develop proficiency in core technical concepts related to the role and apply them appropriately.

Testing

- Execute test scripts effectively.
- Incorporate testing into delivered solutions and ways of working.

Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution

- Troubleshoot and identify issues across different technology capabilities.
