About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Core Banking Business Analyst / Techno-Functional Consultant who can work directly with banking customers and delivery teams to drive Core Banking implementations and customization engagements.

This is not a documentation-only Business Analyst role.

The candidate should be capable of understanding banking requirements, conducting customer workshops, preparing functional specifications, proposing solutions, working with technical teams on customizations and driving requirements through testing, go-live and post-production support.

The role requires strong banking functional knowledge along with sufficient technical understanding to discuss areas such as batch processing, schedulers, EOD/BOD, interfaces, APIs, database/data flows and integrations.

The role involves direct interaction with international banking customers and may require international travel for workshops, implementations, UAT, training, cutover and go-live activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct discovery sessions and functional workshops with banking customers to understand business processes, requirements, gaps and regulatory needs.
- Analyze customer requirements and prepare functional documentation including:

- Functional Specification Documents

- Business Requirement Documents
- Use Cases / User Stories

- Process Flows

- Gap Analysis

- Functional Solution Documents
- Understand the bank's requirements and recommend appropriate solutions using standard Core Banking functionality, configuration or customization.
- Independently drive functional discussions with customers and translate business requirements into implementable solutions.
- Work closely with architects, developers and technical consultants to define solutions for Core Banking customizations.
- Evaluate customization requirements from both a functional and high-level technical perspective and assess the impact on existing Core Banking processes.
- Understand and discuss technical areas relevant to Core Banking implementations including:

- Batch processes

- EOD/BOD processing

- Job schedulers

- Interfaces and APIs

- Integration flows

- Database and data flows
- File-based interfaces

- Logs and error handling

- Upstream and downstream systems
- Deep programming expertise is not expected; however, the candidate should be comfortable discussing solution approaches with technical teams and understanding the technical impact of functional requirements.
- Possess strong functional knowledge across multiple Core Banking areas such as:

- Customer / CIF

- CASA

- Deposits

- Lending





- Teller Operations

- Payments

- Forex

- Fees and Charges

- Interest Processing
- Back-office Operations
- Accounting / General Ledger Interfaces
- Work with development teams to clarify functional requirements and ensure that customizations meet the intended business requirement.
- Review proposed solutions and ensure alignment between customer requirements, product functionality and technical implementation.
- Support product configuration, customization and integration activities throughout the implementation lifecycle.
- Prepare functional test scenarios and participate in:

- Functional Testing

- System Integration Testing

- User Acceptance Testing

- Regression Testing
- Analyze defects and production issues and identify whether the issue is related to product functionality, configuration, customization, integration or data.
- Prioritize and triage implementation and production issues based on business impact and criticality.
- Support data migration validation, reconciliation and cutover activities from a functional perspective.
- Conduct product demonstrations, functional walkthroughs, Train-the-Trainer sessions and end-user training.
- Participate in go-live planning, cutover, production readiness and implementation activities.
- Provide functional support during go-live, stabilization and post-production support.
- Liaise with bank stakeholders, project managers, architects, development teams, QA teams, product teams and third-party vendors.
- Take ownership of assigned functional modules or workstreams and drive them from requirement gathering through production implementation.

Mandatory Requirements

- 715 years of overall professional experience.
- Strong banking domain knowledge with experience in Core Banking.
- Experience working as a Business Analyst, Functional Consultant or Techno-Functional Consultant within a banking technology/software organization.
- Experience in at least one Core Banking implementation, upgrade, migration, customization or transformation program.
- Strong understanding of Core Banking business processes.
- Ability to independently conduct customer workshops and requirement-gathering sessions.
- Experience preparing Functional Specification Documents and translating banking requirements into implementable solutions.
- Ability to recommend functional solutions rather than only document customer requirements.
- Ability to understand the high-level technical implications of a functional requirement.
- Understanding of areas such as batch processing, schedulers, integrations, APIs and data flows.
- Experience in functional testing, defect analysis and UAT support.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-growing, high-ownership technology environment.
- Willingness to work from our Bangalore – HSR Layout office.
- Willingness to travel internationally based on project requirements.

- Experience with EOD/BOD processing, batch jobs and schedulers.
- Experience supporting Core Banking go-lives and production stabilization.
- Experience working directly with international banking customers.
