We’re Hiring: Senior AWS Engineer – Cloud Migration

Location: India – Remote, with occasional customer site visits

ServQual is looking for a hands-on Senior AWS Engineer to design and deliver complex enterprise cloud migrations. You will work across application discovery, infrastructure assessment, dependency mapping, migration wave planning, AWS architecture, automation, security and workload modernisation.

This position requires strong AWS engineering expertise rather than purely programme or project management experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess existing applications, servers, databases, networks and infrastructure for AWS migration readiness.
- Conduct application discovery and dependency mapping using ModelizeIT, AWS Transform and related assessment tools.
- Define application disposition strategies using the 7Rs of migration.
- Develop migration roadmaps, wave plans, workload groupings, runbooks and cutover plans.
- Migrate Windows and Linux workloads using AWS Application Migration Service (AWS MGN).
- Plan and execute database migrations using AWS SCT and AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).
- Migrate and synchronise enterprise data using AWS DataSync, Storage Gateway, S3 and related services.
- Design secure, scalable and resilient AWS landing zones and workload architectures.
- Build and automate infrastructure using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation and CI/CD pipelines.
- Support application modernisation, including containers, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, serverless and managed AWS services.
- Design AWS networking using VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPNs, Route 53, load balancers and security groups.
- Define migration testing, rollback, business continuity and disaster-recovery requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, application,



connectivity and performance issues during migrations.
- Produce migration designs, technical documentation, architecture diagrams and implementation runbooks.
- Work directly with customer architects, security teams, application owners, infrastructure teams and senior stakeholders.
- Support customer workshops, technical presentations and migration governance meetings.

Required Skills and Experience

- Strong hands-on experience delivering enterprise AWS migrations.
- Deep knowledge of core AWS services, including EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, EKS, Lambda, Route 53 and CloudWatch.
- Practical experience with AWS MGN, AWS DMS, AWS SCT and AWS DataSync.
- Experience using ModelizeIT, AWS Transform, or comparable discovery and dependency-mapping platforms.
- Strong knowledge of migration assessment, dependency analysis, wave planning, cutover and rollback.
- Advanced experience with Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
- Experience automating deployments through CI/CD pipelines, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of Windows, Linux, VMware, databases, storage, networking and hybrid-cloud environments.
- Experience migrating VMware, on-premises or other cloud workloads to AWS.
- Strong AWS security fundamentals, including:
- IAM roles, policies, permission boundaries and least privilege
- AWS Organizations, Control Tower and Service Control Policies
- Encryption using AWS KMS and CloudHSM
- Network segmentation and zero-trust principles
- AWS CloudTrail,



Config, GuardDuty, Inspector and Security Hub
- Secrets Manager, Systems Manager and secure workload configuration
- Logging, monitoring, vulnerability management and incident response
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation and customer-facing communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a versatile, remote environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites within India.

Preferred Experience

- Large-scale migrations involving hundreds or thousands of Windows and Linux workloads.
- Database migrations from Oracle, SQL Server or other platforms to Amazon RDS or Aurora.
- Application modernisation using containers, Amazon EKS, ECS or serverless technologies.
- AWS multi-account landing-zone design and governance.
- Regulated or security-sensitive environments.
- Enterprise stakeholder management and technical workshop facilitation.

Certifications Candidates should hold at least one relevant AWS certification. The following are strongly preferred:

- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
