Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Engineer role based in Mumbai. The role involves designing, developing, and deploying machine learning and AI models that power Expenzing’s finance-first products, including fraud detection, anomaly detection, intelligent document capture, and conversational assistants.

The engineer will work closely with product, data, and engineering teams to translate finance domain requirements into robust ML solutions, optimize models for performance and scalability, and integrate them into production systems. Day-to-day tasks include data exploration and preprocessing, model experimentation,



evaluation, and monitoring, as well as building and maintaining ML pipelines and infrastructure. The role also includes mentoring team members, contributing to technical architecture decisions, and staying current with advances in AI/ML relevant to finance and enterprise software.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in core AI/ML domains, such as supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, and model evaluation and optimization.
- Candidates should possess solid programming and engineering skills, including proficiency in Python (and relevant ML libraries), software development best practices, and working with APIs and microservices.
- Candidates should possess data-related skills, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, working with structured and unstructured data, and experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Candidates should possess experience with ML infrastructure and tooling, such as ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), model deployment, monitoring, and MLOps practices.
- Candidates should possess practical knowledge of applying AI/ML to domains like fraud detection, anomaly detection, NLP for document understanding, and conversational interfaces.
