Designation | Senior API Security Project Manager Qualification | Graduate Bachelors Experience (in years) | 8 | Mission The API Security Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating and driving API Security activities, improving API visibility, inventory quality, remediation effectiveness, and overall API security posture. The role combines cybersecurity expertise, project leadership, stakeholder coordination, and risk management capabilities to support the successful execution of API Security initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with application teams, architects, developers, platform teams, and cybersecurity stakeholders to improve API inventory accuracy, drive remediation of identified security risks, and support continuous improvement of API Security capabilities. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities API Security Program Management • Coordinate and drive API Security initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders.

- Track remediation activities, inventory improvement actions, deliverables, and milestones.
- Facilitate discussions between cybersecurity, application, and engineering teams.
- Manage priorities, dependencies, risks, and action plans.
- Monitor and report on API Security KPIs and program progress.
- Support planning and coordination of API Security activities across the organization.



API Security Findings Management • Review API Security findings detected by cyber tools and other security sources.
- Assess technical and business impact of identified vulnerabilities and exposures.
- Support prioritization of remediation activities using a risk-based approach.
- Work closely with application teams to understand root causes and proposed remediation plans.
- Validate remediation effectiveness and identify potential residual risks.
- Escalate critical findings and unresolved risks when appropriate. API Inventory & Visibility Improvement • Drive continuous improvement of API inventory quality and completeness.
- Review discovered APIs and validate ownership, business context, and metadata.
- Identify inventory gaps, duplicate records, shadow APIs, and orphaned assets.
- Improve visibility into API ownership, classification, environments, and exposure.
- Contribute to maintaining accurate and actionable API inventory information within internal portals.

Stakeholder

Engagement • Act as a cybersecurity point of contact for API Security activities.

- Build robust working relationships with application owners, development teams, and platform stakeholders.




- Communicate risks, priorities, and recommendations effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Facilitate collaboration and issue resolution across teams.

Continuous Security

Improvement • Participate in API Security assessments and reviews.

- Support API certification and security review activities.
- Promote secure API development and operational practices.
- Identify recurring security themes and improvement opportunities.

Skill Set

- Experience managing remediation programs and security improvement activities.
